“Adventure Trail”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 25, 2013

My husband and I (both 50) along with my daughter and her boyfriend (20s) did the Adventure Trail last weekend. We had been to Ausable Chasm to do the walking trails, rafting and tubing several times before, but this time we wanted to do something different and more challenging. You begin the adventure with the guides showing you how to use your equipment. The actual climbing begins with a cargo net walk up to your first traverse. A guide will be waiting at the next 'station' which is a zip line. Then another traverse, another zip line and finally a cable bridge. We went tubing afterward, but took a break for lunch in between. If you don't want to do a lot of walking and also want to tube, do the tubing right after your Adventure Trail. In order to get back to the tubing you will need to walk the trail from the beginning - it's not that far and we wanted to do that anyway so it worked out fine for us. We had a beautiful day and it was great fun! I highly recommend the Adventure Trail at Ausable Chasm.

“Beautiful, but a little expensive!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2013

I took my three daughters tubing at Ausable Chasm. The staff was friendly, the facilities clean, and the tubing was a lot of fun (except when we got stuck for 20 minutes at one spot in the river!). You can rent lockers for $2.00 (plus a $5.00 deposit for the lock that you get back). There's a lovely cafeteria, too. But be prepared to spend; tubing for four was $111.00 U.S. ($118.00 CDN). Rafting and the adventure walk cost even more. But if you just want to wander the paths, it's a beautiful way to spend the afternoon in upstate New York.

“Beautiful scenery”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 21, 2013

If you're in the area, this shouldn't be missed. The rafting ride is short but really a nice way to get perspective about how deep and long the chasm is. It's a very mild boat ride, so don't be afraid to bring your nice camera. There are a few spots where water got in the boat and soaked our shoes and shorts, but overall it's not the kind of ride where you'll lose anything overboard. They do military discounts, so be sure to mention it, if you're a veteran. Food was available at the cafe, but nothing to write home about. Be sure to use mosquito repellent if you're doing the hike along the chasm.

“Simply awesome, great place for kids and adults”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

We have taken one of our sons & his family, a daughter and her family, then another son and his family to Ausable Chasm and they have all really enjoyed it immensely. It is not such a hard walk that most anyone can do it....the 3 yr old granddaughter managed just fine....and the lower rim is much more impressive than the upper one. Its worth the trip to go to Ausable Chasm.

“Fun With Kids!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 18, 2013

Took a day trip from Wilmington to tube... unfortunately tubing wasn't happening and we didn't find out till we got to the launch. However the rafting was fun and it was very nice to have a guide and get a little history on the way down the river! The scenery is gorge-ous and the intermediate trail was easily hikable by all 5 kids - age 9 to 15. We were told it was the prettiest trail, and it was! Great trip!!
