“A lovely break”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed May 19, 2014

My wife and I booked a lodge for 3 nights on Rudding Holiday Park as we were attending a wedding at the hotel - and for the price of one night in a hotel we would be staggering back to late at night and leaving early, we got a lovely lodge for 3 nights. The lodge was great, weather beautiful, and the site was simply brilliant. Definitely go to Sainsbury's down the road rather than the shop on site though, limited stocks and very overpriced.
The staff were great, we got upgraded for free (not sure why) and a lovely weekend was had.
Our kids weren't invited to the wedding which is why it was just the two of us, but I can safely say we'll be returning and bringing them with us - the play areas looked good.
In summary - lovely place, lovely people, expensive shop ;)

My wife, son and myself stayed at Rudding Park for five weeks recently due to a time gap between selling our house and the availability of our new home. What a great choice we made! Tony, Marc, Susan and the rest of the team made our stay a really good experience, we could not fault the service. The setting of the Park and the amenities are first rate, our lodge was 2 minutes walk from the golf course! Walking our dog in the superb grounds was a very pleasant experience; the dog exercise area whilst small was generally kept clean, however, the Park cannot be held responsible for lazy dog-owners that do not clean up after their pets - there are plenty of bins available! Our lodge was spacious, well equipped, and clean. I would recommend Rudding Park to anyone looking for a short term let.

Room Tip: There are specific lodges allocated for short term lets, linen is changed weekly, bins are emptied d...

All the literature indicates that this is a dog friendly camp site.....but don't be fooled.
The holiday park does allow dogs on site but that's about where the dog friendly status stops.
The pub / restaurant on site does not allow dogs in at all. They have a wooden floor section and a carpeted section and I would have thought that allowing dogs onto the wooden section would not have been any hardship at all. They state its due to food being served but of course we all know that many places that serve food, also allow dogs in....take the Travellers Rest pub approx. 1 mile away for example.
The dog exercise area is very small and might suit something no bigger than a Jack Russell, unfortunately, some people who use it do not clean up after their dogs making it unpleasant for anyone else to exercise their dog.
The park itself was nice, well kept with good toilet / shower facilities. A small over-priced shop at the entrance to the park. Unless you're desperate, I'd pop on down to Sainsbury's to stock up with supplies.
So, like I said, not completely what it says on the tin.

My family and I are frequent visitors to the Rudding Holiday Park were we regularly camp, we have two young daughters who play in the various play parks within the beautiful walled grounds of the Park safely. On a recent visit over the Easter weekend, we were greeted with a warm and friendly reception from Susan and Tony who allocated our pitch. Whilst you can’t reserve specific camping pitches, we had requested a pitch on the field closest to the Deerhouse family Pub. This was dually done although the pitch we were allocated had recently had the distribution box for the electric hook-up changed from 3 sockets to 2 due to an issue with the box. This unfortunate oversight meant we were very kindly asked if we would be prepared to move to another pitch which was slightly shaded. We did this without issue as all the pitches in my opinion are fine and spacious. Whilst in the process of setting up our equipment, Tony came to see me and courteously asked for a second of my time, he then went onto explain what the issue was and apologised unreservedly for the oversight. He also very generously offered me a goodwill gesture as he was genuinely upset by the relocation.

The customer service displayed by Tony, Susan and the entire park staff that day was some of the finest I have ever experienced and I am certain this was not because we are regulars but it is simply the standard they work to.

It goes without saying that we will shortly be returning for our next short break to Rudding Park and I can honestly say that my family and I look forward to it more and more each time.

We came to celebrate a family birthday in our caravan and weren't disappointed. Lovely grounds, friendly staff and a peaceful environment. Not all amenities were open as it was low season but that was fine. The kids enjoyed the play area and the sunny weather was a bonus. We will be back.

Rustic cabins sit in secluded glades in the landscaped grounds of grade 1 listed Rudding Park. With activities on tap, kind and generous staff and a delightful setting there is little not to like about the Holiday Park.

The cabins are cosy and comfortable although the privacy of those sharing the accommodation is necessarily limited by the close proximity of all the rooms. However, this is a small concession in an otherwise practical and decent set up.
