Last Saturday was my birthday and we booked a 6:00 PM reservation here. We were seated right away. There were two menus. One was the standard daily menu and the other was a Summer Seafood menu. Both menus were four course affairs with appetizer, salad, entree and dessert. The seafood menu added a draft, beer, wine or soft drink and the appetizer, salad and entree offerings were different on each menu. I opted for the Seafood menu and asked our waiter Lorenzo what the draft beer offerings were. He didn't know and had to look at my menu to find out. My son ordered the lobster ravioli appetizer. Apparently Lorenzo wasn't aware that it was off of the menu that evening and had to come back to the table to have my son make another selection. We received our appetizers before our drink orders. There's no excuse for that since our orders were simple beer, wine and soft drinks.
The biggest complaint was with the entrees. Three of us received ours, but my son's order which consisted of a half lobster, clams, mussels and shrimp over pasta was missing with the promise that it would be "right out". None of of wanted to start until his order arrived. A good five minutes elapsed before his order arrived while our entrees were cooling off. To it's credit, management comped us a round of drinks. My wife complained that her tilapia had cooled and my crab cakes were also only warm. My son loved his entree and his girlfriend loved her Vermont Turkey. In general the food was fine, just not hot. Dessert was standard and OK, though the portions were a bit small.
Despite this it was a nice evening. With four courses, our waiter paced the meal nicely with time between courses for us to engage in conversation. We spent over two hours there capped by a stroll though the Milleridge Village shops on our way to the car.
Had the service been a little better this trip would have earned a very good. But I still like the place.
