“Convenient location”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 11, 2013

Very close to NY subway (F line). It takes about 30-40 min to go time square etc. Very close to several low budget but good eateries. Very close to grocery store which serves great sandwiches and fruits.

We stayed in this hotel for 5nights in Aug 2013.
The hotel is in Jamica Queens just off the Van Wyck Expressway. The closest subway station is Jamica- Van Wyck, which is about a 10minute walk. [E line]. Avoid the Brairwood -van wyck station, esp at nights. It is too dark and there are no street lights.
The rooms are bright clean and neat. Being close to the expressway, there is a bit of traffic noise, if your room is facing the highway.
Breakfast is decent, but the dining room small. It has a GYM too.
A little walk down to the road is Jamica Stuphin Blvrd. This has a lot of food outlets and the metro station where you can get the airtrain to the airport.
Staff were friendly and helpful.

Recommend it as a great place to stay and it is value for money.

Room Tip: Choose a room away from the expressway!

Stayed here one night after arriving at the airport very late, considering it advertised itself as an airport hotel it was not quite as close to the airport as I had imagined and involved catching a train and a bus in order to get there - took over half an hour. The staff were welcoming and friendly, room was much better than I had expected and breakfast was complimentary.
If you need to travel from here to New York central I would recommend organising your own taxi as the service they use was more expensive than the local cabs, the driver was incredibly rude and I feared for my life for most of the journey.

Recently we had the pleasure of taking our eldest son to NY so that he could fly from LaGuardia to Japan. He is starting a job there and we all wanted to see him off at the airport. I wanted a reasonable hotel that was close to the airport. The Best Western Jamaica Inn fit the requirements. We had a great stay there and the price was right. And free breakfast is always good. Best of all it wasn't far from the airport. I would definitely recommend this hotel to anyone needing to spend a night before or after a flight from LaGuardia. We will definitely stay their in the future.

We arrived late at JFK and it was a delight to be able to get to the hotel in 10 minutes. Despite being (almost) on the Van Wyck Expressway we were pleasantly surprised at how quiet it was. The parking is safe, the breakfast was fine - better than one might expect for a complementary breakfast. I have seen reviews that say the rooms were cramped. Ours was great. Well air conditioned, despite it being nearly 100 degrees F outside, with a nice shower, and a flat screen TV, microwave, fridge, free wifi, and a coffee maker. Good value for money and, being so near the metro, good for visiting New York City.

We were greeted by Avinash who was extremely friendly & helpful. We ordered Indian food to be delivered & sat in dining breakfast area to eat. Meal was very enjoyable. Nothing around hotel but they suggest several delivery places.
Rooms are extremely small but clean & comfortable.
Breakfast area very nice and good selection.
Shuttle bus to airline of choice in morning good

The hotel is right next to the Van Wyck Expressway which makes it quite noisy even in the rooms. Other than that, everything is pretty much standard about it, which is not meant in a derogatory way. Our room was standard size and very clean. Flat screen TV (never switched it on), two queen beds, microwave, fridge, coffee maker etc. Continental breakfast is included, again standard: make-your-own waffles, muffins, cereal, coffee (the latter quite good actually) etc. Fitness room looked nice but did not use.

One thing is that we had a hole in the ceiling, with brown water and stuff dripping on the corner of one of our beds. This may have had to do with the fact that we were here during a minor tropical storm (Andrea) but this is still not something you want to have happen.

Overall, I would not go out of my way to go back but I also would not hesitate to use this place again if I were back in the area.

Room Tip: Maybe rooms to the back of the building are less noisy?
