“Really a Nice Stop Over after a Long 12 Flight to JFK!!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 14, 2014

This is now my third stay at this property. They have a hotel bus shuttle service via the Air train at JFK.

Check in was fast and professional, the rooms are a bit small but after a long flight you don't really mind the room size. The beds are Marriott "proven-for-solid-nights-sleep" and there is no airport sounds!!

The top billing at this Fairfield Inn is the full service restaurant on the ground floor. I always enjoy the food and drinks!! It appears that all clients do the same. I do believe this is one of the only Fairfield Inns that have such a hotel/restaurant set up.

After a solid meal a restful night is guaranteed. In the morning the Hotel Shuttle takes you back to the Air Train and then it offs to your next location!!

Room Tip: I prefer a room at the rear on a top floor.

My wife and I stayed for one night while waiting until our next morning JFK flight. Pickup and drop off to the Inn was easy though the driving was less than friendly. The front desk staff was very friendly and got us checked in with warm cookies (nice touch) and to our room in record time. Room was very clean and efficient. We had a great night sleep, got our wake up call and breakfast, and back to the airport in perfect time. We will definitely use them again if we have a long time between flights at JFK.

I ended up staying here due to a missed flight connection and picked this hotel based simply on my previous experience with the Marriott brand. This hotel met my expectations of quality. This hotel is a good option for a stay nearby JFK airport and the room price for my 10:30 PM walk-up reservation was very reasonable for the location.

The hotel appears to have been recently updated and my room facing the street was still very quiet! The staff is very pleasant, the hotel is clean, elevators are quiet, they have a restaurant and bar. Room amenities included a microwave, mini-fridge (with sleep function to turn off the compressor), LCD TV, comfy bed, and free wifi. The free continental breakfast started at 6AM and it was well stocked with everything you would expect; they even had eggs, turkey sausage, and one of those pour-your-own-waffle stations. A+

We stayed here for 2 nights near the JFK airport. It has a airport shuttle to and from the airport which makes it convenient. From their we take the subway into town. Otherwise you pay about $5 for a taxi ride to get to the subway station. The place decent if you're just staying for a night or 2 if you're taking an international flight out the next day. It's convenient although not exactly in a safe neighbor hood but just don't go out at night or take the cab. They have free breakfast and wifi and decent price.

Room Tip: Get a higher floor, away from elevator. Get to breakfast earlier before the crowd. Breakfast roo...

Dear Tripadvisor Reviewer,

I would like to thank you for your recent stay at our hotel. We are glad to hear that you enjoyed your stay with us.

Please be informed that the JFK Airport area is located in a bit of industrial/residential neighborhood. While the neighborhood seems to be dated, it's fairly safe area. In fact NYC is lot safer than other major & minor cities in US like , Camden, Newark, Chicago etc.

Hope to have a pleasure of welcoming you back again in the future.

Thanks

We've stayed here several times before or after an international flight. We appreciate that they provide a good breakfast and opens early and there's a restaurant in the hotel. We live in California and stay here overnight before a long flight. The restaurant has good food and we've appreciated it being available after flying across the country. The shuttle is pretty efficient, once you know that the way to access it is to take the Airtrain to Federal Circle. The neighborhood around this hotel isn't one that makes me want to stroll, so I appreciate the restaurant for dinner and breakfast. The rooms are clean and the staff is responsive to the needs of travelers. The shuttle runs often direct to JFK.

We stayed the night before a very early international flight from JFK. The hotel had everything we were looking for, front desk staff was very nice and helpful, they even took money off our our park and fly rate for not using all of the days of the parking. Restaurant offered surprisingly very good food in large portions, it was very nice to have the restaurant onsite as the area was not the greatest. Shuttle was punctual leaving for the airport in the morning, and when we returned from the airport. They had our car waiting for us in the front of the hotel on the return, that was a nice touch and quite a time saver.

We stayed at the Fairfield Inn New York JFK Airport on April 2, for one night before an 8 am flight to St. Lucia. Usually we stay at a different airport hotel, but I had a Marriott reward night that I needed to use up before the end of the month. The primary purpose of an airport hotel should be to provide a clean, comfortable place to sleep, then get me to the airport in time for my flight. The Fairfield in did just that.

SHUTTLE: The shuttle runs from the hotel every half hour directly to your terminal. Another shuttle picks you up from Federal Circle and brings to to the hotel. When we arrived at Federal Circle, we had just missed a shuttle. Another one came less than 15 minutes later. But it was on the way to the Airport that the shuttle was really great. On the morning of our flight, we overslept, and almost missed the 6 am shuttle. I got there ahead of my husband, and in a panic. The shuttle bus driver was awesome, and I wish I'd got his name. He looked calmly at the bus, which was almost full, and called for a second bus. He then sent the first bus on its way. I thought that was a wonderful way of handling the situation. He didn't hold up all the people who had woken up on time, and still made sure that my husband and I would get to the airport on time!

ROOM: Our room was small, but the bathroom was big. The bed was pretty comfortable and there were plenty of pillows. Everything was clean. The only thing that didn't work was the remote control.

SLEEP QUALITY: Our room looked right onto the car storage area. I'm a pretty heavy sleeper, and light and noise (within reason) don't really bother me. If you are bothered by those things, make sure to tell the front desk that, so that they can put you into a quieter room.

SERVICE: In other similar hotels in the area, the service has been borderline gushing. My first impression was that the staff (front desk, shuttle, and restaurant) we polite, but cool. I quickly found out that when you need something, they are capable, knowledgeable, and efficient, which, when you're worried about missing a flight, is infinitely better!

FOOD: We didn't have time for breakfast, but the selection looked great! We ate at the bar the night before. The prices were reasonable and the portions were huge.
