My wife and I stayed in the Radisson JFK on our trip to Jamaica, October 2014

The hotel is definitely not the newest hotel around, and could use some refurnishing, but the rooms are spacious (for an European :P) and clean.

The clerks at the check in desk have been competent and kind, also joking, which makes it easier and nicer to deal with them.

The shuttle service is a great plus, we had to wait only a few minutes on our arrival to NYC and basically nothing to go back to the JFK the morning after.

We had had (scroll down for the whole story) a problem with the credit card, that was charged even if we had booked the hotel using the Club Carson points.
It took some time (more than 2 weeks) for this issue to be solved, but eventually everything was settled up (hence the reason of the 3rd review).

The 3 stars given to the hotel are also cause of this credic card incident. Without it, it would have been 4, as I had initially rated it.

Close to the airport and convenient shuttle service. because of the location you are pretty much stuck with the hotel restaurant that is a little expensive for the quality but overall very clean and great staff. Thanks Chris for making us feel at home.

Room Tip: rooms opposite of the expressway.

We arranged this hotel for a Meeting. The hotel management was very supportive. We had a successful event. This hotel very next to the JFK airport and provided free shuttle service. We had many delicate from other countries. It was very convenient for everyone.

The Air France pilots strike meant we were delayed on our return so they provided us a voucher to spend the night at this hotel. We had to wait a long time at the pickup spot for the shuttle bus. Checkin also took longer than expected because for some unknown reason the clerk had to keep going behind the wall to get authorization from the night manager. We thought the hotel was pleasant and the room was definitely comfortable enough for our short visit. The next morning there was a large throng of people waiting to shuttle back to JFK. Luckily a majority were headed to the Delta terminal as we were so the first bus took the Delta passengers.

We found the hotel very satifying. The rooms were comfortable and clean. Service was very good. The only problem we had was with the shuttle service. We left our car parked at the hotel when we returned we had to wait 40 min. out in the freezing cold for a shuttle to arrive. Every other hotel in the area came by every 15 min. or less to pick up passengers.

So, I'll start with the pluses (both of them). The beds are pretty comfy, and the lady at the bar is nice.

And the negatives: airport collection involves a ten mile hike and a long wait in an area bereft of seating or shelter - just spend the money and get a cab, you're going to regret every other penny you spend staying here anyway.

Once you arrive, you'll be politely informed that the bellhop is unionised, and on break or finished for the night (anytime after 10 i think). So, you'll check in, and lug all your own luggage up to the room. Then you might wander down to the bar, only to be told it closes at 11:30.

In the morning, you'll find breakfast is predictably overpriced, and pretty awful. So you might try room service: unfortunately, there is none between 11am and 7pm and the suggested delivery places aren't open either. So, you starve, or head to another hotel for some food.

On balance, I'd recommend heading to another hotel, but do so the night before, check in there, and chuckle to yourself at the fate of the poor fools like me who are stuck at the Radisson; at least your schadenfreude will give this place a function in life.

Room Tip: Pick any room - just at a different hotel.

We apologize for the inconvenience you had to face with your luggage and are looking into some procedures that we can put in place to address this and the other issues you bring up. Rarely stay at Radissons but the reviews on here pursuaded me to try. The room was great. Bigger than your avg NYC hotel room, nice enough bath. Bed was great room decor recently refurbished.

Hotel lobby was a bit chaotic but once you make it past the lobby its all good. Nice (not huge but big enough) exercise area on one of the lower floors. Hey this was odd-they have room service for breakfast and for dinner. I tried to order lunch-not happening. They explained they close for breakfast at like 1030, reopen at 6. Nothing delivered between those times.

Thank you internet was free and not at all cumbersome to activate, very easy and great service
