“Charming getaway”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 4, 2013

Choices for Ithaca vacations include a variety of hotels in and around the city, or this charming country hotel 5 mins from downtown. The bathrooms are starting to show their age, but some have jacuzzi tubs that make up for it. Room 130 was enormous - two king beds as well as tables and small loveseats. The best pillows on the beds! Coffee and tea are always available in the lobby, and there is a wine tasting every evening. Don't miss breakfast! At first glance it seems pricey, but the food is delicious and well-priced for everything that is included. Staff are wonderful. Massages at the spa are tops - ask for Kate. The hotel is close to Buttermilk Falls - but get the detailed info on trails before you go from someone who is knowledgeable!

I have stayed in many resorts near and far (domestic and abroad) and La Tourelle is a gem right in our own backyard! The tranquility at the resort, quality of food and service was top notch.
The bed! The dual shower head! The spa! The food! AMAZING!!!!!
Far exceeded my expectations!
Well done folks...I can't wait to come back!!!

Everyone here was as kind and hospitable as can be. We had a great time at the hotel during our three-night stay. The happy hour tour of local wine was fun and informative. The grounds are beautiful, too. Our family stayed in two adjoining rooms, each with very different and distinctive decor but both very comfortable and easy to relax in. If you stay, do yourself a favor and have breakfast at the bistro. It was probably the best meal of our week-long trip.

Room Tip: Get a room overlooking the valley. It's beautiful.

We stayed at La Tourelle for one evening. We were there to go wine tasting! What a nice surprise after a long drive to arrive at La Tourelle. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. They provided us with all the information we needed to start our wine tasting excursion.

Our room was spacious, comfortable and clean. We had the Toulouse room on the first floor with a fireplace and small balcony overlooking the grass area in the back of the hotel. The only complaint I have is that our air conditioner did not work. The room became extremely hot in the evening. I honestly believe that since we were there in late April perhaps they hadn't turned on the AC in the hotel. Other than that we would definitely stay here again.

Furthermore, we had breakfast at the Bistro restaurant before we left and the breakfast was filling and priced just right.

The calmness greets you at the front door and you exhale and leave your life behind.
The fireplaces in the well appointed rooms are cozy, and the balconies look out onto the upstate New York scenery.
There are property trails which join up with Buttermilk Falls State Park trails, which provides a morning or afternoon outing without needing a car.
If you want to get into town, it is a quick and easy drive. Ithaca College is minutes away, and Cornell is easy to get to as well.
The service was friendly and understated. Nothing was missing.
With a child at Cornell, we will definitely stay here again.

What a wonderful time we had at Latourelle for the Winter Bluegrass Fest! The rooms were beautiful and every member of the staff was so polite and personable. We were pleasantly surprised that the staff was so friendly and accomodating during such a large event. And I do mean the whole staff, from checking in, to the housekeeping, consierge..everyone. The rooms were CLEAN and beautiful. Even though we looked at the photos on their website, you never know till you are there. Many photos are old and then you are disappointed, not in this case. They really made us feel welcome! Music was, of course, awesome as well.
