“Delightfully dingy!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed August 29, 2011 via mobile

This is a very small neighborhood diner. The food was decent and the prices were great. If I were a local, I would definitely come here regularly. The cook-maybe the owner-looks a lot like the picture on the front window. I didn't mind the crafty-looking 1960's decor, but would wish for fresh coat of orange paint to match the checkerboard floor. Dine at one of the half dozen tables or at the counter.

“Home made breakfast!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 23, 2011 via mobile

Can't say much about the service but the food was amazing!! And the atmosphere couldn't have been more amazing with the locals that go there every day. The friendliest people I've met.

“One of Ithaca's Best Kept Secrets”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 28, 2011

Mon - Sat.....this is the place for a terrific breakfast or lunch.
The homemade soups and blue plate specials are "home cooking"
like your Mom would have made.

It's a small place in a residential neighborhood (Fall Creek) where
everyone knows your name. It's referred to as the "Cheers" of Ithaca.

Love this place

“A real neighborhood diner”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 6, 2010

This is true diner food at diner prices. When I'm rushed and need to grab a quick breakfast, I scoot down to Fall Creek and jump on one of the stools at the counter. Nothing special for sure (though the sausage gravy sure is tasty), but if you need quick grub and want to eat with the locals (and trust me, no one is here but the locals) this is one of those places. Even though you can tell that there's no real quality to the ingredients, you can tell they work to prepare it the way you order it. One of the only places in town where I can count on them getting my soft-poached eggs right. They're only open for breakfast and lunch (I'm not sure I'd bother for lunch), and not on Sundays. Great place if you're counting pennies (and the laundromat is just a couple doors down!). Also, it's small - I went the other day and not a seat available, had to go somewhere else. But that doesn't happen often, and the tables turn over quick.
