The series of waterfalls one encounters following the trail that runs the length of this park are really beautiful, so if one is into photography like me, this is the perfect outing. The actual trails are quite demanding if one is going to do the entire trek.
I would recommend starting it in the uphill direction (ie from the lower park access closer to Ithaca), to give oneself a bit of rest on the return trip. However, that lower part of the park trails provides enough up-and-down climbing/descending to promise a good workout no matter which way one is traveling. For those of us in the older demographic, take it slow, rest when you need to... the resulting views are well worth the exertion.
