“Exquisite B & B in Interlaken”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 12, 2012

We spent three nights at this charming B&B. The moment you walk through the doors, Gina welcomes you with a huge smile and the smell of home baked cookies. Our room was decorated beautifully with tasteful antiques. The vanity brought back memories of my grandmother. Gina & Tony served up scrumptious breakfasts every morning. It was so peaceful drinking multiple cups of coffee listening to the soft wind chimes blowing on the large veranda. They were also very helpful in suggesting restaurants and places to tour. The customer service we received was outstanding. I had left 2 tops behind. However, upon my return home, I had an e-mail advising that she had mailed them back to me. Tony & Gina are genuine people who obviously love what they do! I wish them continued success!

This is a new spot with four rooms. We stayed in a smaller room with sloped ceilings, could be an issue for a taller person, my husband had a bit of a problem in the bathroom. However, the room is just lovely, with much attention to detail. Everything is very clean, the bed was comfortable, and the shower was nice. They even provide nice shower gel and shampoo. The linens and towels are good quality, I always notice those things.

Breakfast on the porch was a great way to start the day. The food was very good and beautifully presented, you can see the quality and effort put in to it. We also appreciated the portion size, not skimpy like some places. The coffee was very good.

We weren't sure if the location would take us off our path on the east side of lake Seneca, no worries, it was only 8 min. off the main highway. So heading out for dinner was easy, everything is close by. Very nice people who will be successful with their new venture.

Gina and Tony will make you feel very welcome in their home. The breakfasts were delightful and these are experienced gluten free cooks. I totally enjoyed GF biscotti, scones, and waffles and I asked for this the day before our arrival! Gina is very careful to supply natural soaps and shampoo. The drinking water is pure and filtered. The house and rooms are beautiful. We had breakfast on the veranda every day and enjoyed some late night chats in the garden, listening to crickets and watching stars.

Welcome to paradise! Forget your cares and unwind in this beautifully appointed, Italian-themed bed and breakfast located between the areas two largest finger lakes, Seneca and Cayuga, in the heart of New York wine country. Tony and Gina the establisments owners are well-versed in creating an atmospere that is comfortable and relaxing. Prepare yourself to enjoy being doted on. Gina quickly learns your beverage and snack habits and effortlessly serves you up. A morning capacino on the wrap-around porch in the morning is a must. Tony is a skilled chef, take a page from my book, and let him surprise you with his mouth-watering creations. Breakfast is amazing here, you'll want to skip lunch. The last day was my favorite when he served up yogurt and strawberry parfaits, followed by home-made warm strawberry scones, and finally a plate with a mushroom and goat-cheese omelet, fresh tomato with basil, hashbrowns, watermelon and your choice of toast. I thought I had died and gone to heaven. Every afternoon a ligh refreshment of fresh fruit and your choice of beverage was also included. All in all- divine!

Room Tip: We chose the Buon Amici (Good friends) because our daughter travelled with us. The other rooms are...

This B & B [A Stone’s Throw] surpasses the photos and description on its web site. The rooms are beautifully decorated, immaculately clean and spaciously comfortable. The wraparound porch and garden are perfect for breakfast and relaxing. Breakfast itself was an added surprise, including perfectly prepared eggs, mini yogurt parfaits with fresh fruit, local Amish breads and sunflower butter. Even the body wash, lotion, and shampoo were organic and aromatheraputic. Our host and hostess, Tony and Gina, were welcoming, accommodating and interesting. They truly aim to please. It was a first class experience and we are looking forward to another stay.

I took my mom on a 4 day trip to the Finger Lake Region, only adding the 4th day at the very last minute, we were lucky to find this gem of a B&B with a room still available: La Vita e'Bella! We arrived very late (after sunset) & hungry and having been greeted by the wonderful hosts Gina & Tony, were giving instruction how to get to a lovely restaurant in Interlaken. Our room had its own porch and entrance which meant we were able to return at any time of night not interrupting anyone...wonderful!!! The room is absolutely gorgeous, furnished with great detail and care, we felt right at home. Setting eyes upon the porch & grounds in the morning we wished we had been able to stay there for our entire trip!!!! We did not realize how close everything really is in this region! A stone's throw away, truly!!! The breakfast was brilliant and plenty and being served rather than buffet style we were able to chat with Gina and hear about some of the history of this great century home and its neighbourhood and of course its new guardians who put so much effort and love into restoring this home and making it their 'baby'.
Thank you again Gina & Tony!
Planning on going again!!!!

This is the perfect location if you want to see and explore the Finger Lakes region of New York. This B&B is quite new to the scene but the home is not. Our room, La Vita e Bella had a very comfortable king size bed, a sofa, and a chair with ottoman as well as a private entrance. The bathroom was a little small compared to the rest of the room but was very nice and had a great shower. Each morning of our 5 night stay we were treated to some of the best tasting farm to table ingedients the area has to offer. Tony used to be one of the chefs at a local restaurant, Moosewood in Ithaca, whereby he showcased many of the areas local fare even from his own herb garden. You will not go hungry here. The location allowed us to see some of the many amazing sights this area of the Finger Lakes has to offer, Amish farms, Watkins Glen, Taughannock State Park, Corning Glass Museum, a terrific museum, as well as Cornell Planatations, a great place to see the campus as well take a break from the areas many sights to just enjoy life. While you are at the Planatations do not miss the Botanical Gardens. The Cayuga and Seneca Lake Wine Trails are just minutes away and they both share award winning wineries of which we went to only a few as this was not our purpose of our visit. We enjoyed eating at several of the best local farm to table restaurants in the area, The Red Gnewt, The Stone Cat, Heuriger, in mine and wifes opinion the best in the area, and Hazelnut Cafe, a close second.

So to wrap up, come to A Stone's Throw for rest and relaxation as well as the best the Finger Lakes region has to offer, you will not be sorry.

Room Tip: La Vita e Bella is most likely a quieter room due to is location in the rear of property and Dano...
