Overlooking Lake Four near Old Forge, the Woods Inn is a very unassuming structure. Walking past the reception desk for the Inn, past two sitting rooms and an empty dining room to an enclosed porch occupied by merely one couple, we almost turned around and left. Glad we didin't. We had chosen this for our lunch spot based on the reviews here and we were rewarded by an excellent over stuffed Rueben and a creative turkey sandwich which my wife could only half finish.
The single server had to double as the hostess so we waited for a while until she emerged from the kitchen to seat us. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the food justifies the visit. Eventually we saw nine adults and two young teens come in to dine. One couple say outside and on a sunny day that may be the best place to eat.
