“Worth the Wait at Lunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 3, 2010

Overlooking Lake Four near Old Forge, the Woods Inn is a very unassuming structure. Walking past the reception desk for the Inn, past two sitting rooms and an empty dining room to an enclosed porch occupied by merely one couple, we almost turned around and left. Glad we didin't. We had chosen this for our lunch spot based on the reviews here and we were rewarded by an excellent over stuffed Rueben and a creative turkey sandwich which my wife could only half finish.

The single server had to double as the hostess so we waited for a while until she emerged from the kitchen to seat us. The decor is nothing to write home about, but the food justifies the visit. Eventually we saw nine adults and two young teens come in to dine. One couple say outside and on a sunny day that may be the best place to eat.

“Wonderful dinner, attentive service, a beautiful lakeside setting!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2010

The Wood's Inn was a lovely surprise find as we traveled from Tupper Lake toward Old Forge. We sat on the patio with a beautiful view of Fourth Lake. The waitor and waitress who attended to us were both informative, attentive, and friendly in a non-intrusive way-perfect! The owner checked in a couple times to be sure all was well. And, it was! Drinks were perfect. Stuffed sole was delicious-the whipped sweet potatoes were an unusual treat Chicken caesar salad was refreshing and filling The peach/mango creme brulee had nice flavor but was not as creamy as it should have been. Great coffee. Wonderful dinner all in all! We'll be back!

“Do Not go to Inlet, New York unless you plan on eating/staying at the Woods Inn.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 24, 2009

My husband and I have been going to Inlet, NY in the Adirondack Mountains on and off for 30 years. We stumbled on the Woods Inn in the tourist guide and walked in to have a look around. We ended up coming back for dinner twice in four days. The cost is moderate, but the food is wonderful! Trendy, but plentiful.

Joedda (the co-owner) was accommodating, friendly, graceful and interesting. I don't quite remember what we had (four meals, salads, desserts) but we are already trying to find a day to take the three hour drive back to Inlet just for the grace and great food of Woods Inn.

“Refreshing menu for this area”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed August 9, 2009

Most restaurants have the same things on their menus which isn't very good and gets really boring. Woods Inn starts with yummy corn bread and rolls and has many varieties of food and upscale specials. We appreciate the opportunity to get fish that isn't haddock up here. We need more Woods Inns here! I've only been there on the weekends and after dinner went downstairs to the classic rustic bar and heard fun music and played pool with my family. It was great!

“Excellent food in a beautiful setting at very reasonable prices”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2009

We spent four nights at The Woods Inn and ate dinner there three of them. Eating elsewhere the one night was a mistake. The food was delicious and the setting just beautiful. In addition to the 15 or so entrees on the menu each night there were three or four specials. The entrees ranged from chicken pot pie to steak and salmon. We ate in the glassed in porch and saw the sunset each night. Wonderful food, great service in a charming setting-it doesn't get better.
