All in all a great day. Check in at 9AM was crowded but moved quickly and by 9:30AM we were on the bus to the put in. The guides all were friendly and seemed to know their stuff. The equipment all seemed in good shape and everyone was provided a life jacket and a helmet. The rapids were fun but not huge, it was the summer not spring season. During the calm parts we were able to jump in the river for a bit and float, the water was pretty warm. Our guide also talked all about the river, its history and the nature we could see from the river. Not sure if they all do this.
I feel out once, really my own fault for not following the guides instructions and diving towards the middle of the raft when he said too. I was fished out shortly after. Since I was already soaked from the waves wasn't a big deal.
Lunch is as the guides described it "Turkey or Turkey." Won't change your life, but after all that paddling I was starving and ate the sandwiches and snacks quick!
I wore Tevas, I would suggest wearing something with more covering, as the guides told us the bottom is full of sharp rocks and they were right.
If you like being outdoors, love the water and getting wet, its a great day.
