We selected this inn out of a B&B brochure without really knowing what we were getting, and we were pleasantly surprised by every aspect of the place. The location is just outside of downtown Tannersville and very close to restaurants, hiking, and other activities. The inn itself is beautiful - a huge wooden house with wraparound porch, bar, and cute, clean rooms. The breakfast, which is included in the room rate, includes homemade breads, choice of breakfast entree, and juice and coffee. Better than any included breakfast we've had. Delicious, high quality food.
The grounds include a small pool and expansive lawn, and for rainy days there are several sitting rooms inside for board games or reading. A lovely place to stay, and from what we saw, I think it's one of the nicest in the region. The innkeeper is also more than happy to make suggestions for dining and activities. Very kind and helpful.
For dinner, try Black Diamonds (just across the road, right out of the driveway). We had a bad experience with the service, but the food was AMAZING on all counts.
In the immediate area there didn't seem to be much in the the way of shops, but the hiking at North Lake was great. Lots of trails both up and down the mountain so you never have to repeat a path, and the lake looked very inviting.
