“Great service and Amazing Food”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 28, 2012

I had:

Local beer with mescal
Then a very tasty Pulpo
Then a baked sandwich with mushrooms And goat cheese with tomatoes
And finally a "dégustation" desert with samples of different local deserts (best one was the cheesecake with cajeta caramel.

.. Only fresh And tasty Food.

Very Nice atmosphere And the owner takes excellent care of guests.

I ll be back !

“Really good food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 21, 2012

The food is top-notch here, and I would highly recommend that you try this restaurant. The ribs were superb, extremely tender and with a slight smoky flavour. Odd that they only came with about 6 french fries, but lots of meat. The menu is not typical Mexican food, so don't expect Mexican specialties. Prices are more in line with Canadian pricing, so it could be considered expensive by Mexican standards.
I did find the decor a little sparse for my taste, but it was consistent through-out the restaurant, so this was obviously the owner's intent.
It is important to note that its location is wrong on the TripAdvisor map. We ended up walking out of the Centro Historico across the main road, and realized that something must be wrong. The neighbourhood out of the Centro takes a distinct drop downward. We did get directions from some shop-keepers, but adding to the challenge is that the street Erlum is on has a name change as you move along it. So check head for its correct location. I did mention this to the owners and hopefully they can get TripAdvisor to correct this, also it still is incorrect today.

I was surprised that we were the only people in the restaurant during our visit, and hope that this is not normal. It deserves more business that I observed it was enjoying. So check it out and you won't be disappointed.

“So glad we found this place!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 6, 2012 via mobile

My husband and I have lived in this area or years, but never had a meal to really rave about in Queretaro. Erlum, however, is fantastic! The ambiance is no better than many a restaurant in neighboring San Miguel de Allende - but the food is fresher, more original, and more tasty! Our delight started with the bread and butter served before the meal. I could have just kept eating THAT until full! But the entrees - mine a homemade chicken pot pie and my husband's a lovely pork, nabo, and sweet potatoe combo - were definitely worth saving room for! Better yet, our entrees were part of a lunch special that also included a luscious cream soup and dessert for a very good price. We most definitely put this one on our list!

“Fresh & healthy homemade food & lovely owners”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

It's really a nice place to eat or have a dinner. The owners are a married couple, in love with cooking & got lot's of fresh ideas for the dishes. It's not a typical Mexican heavy food, but I'd say a fusion cuisine. Oh, you should try the local Mexican wines here also. And a local made goat cheese for desert.

“Excellent”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed November 5, 2012

Knowledgeable, attentive service (including wines) and excellent, original food. If you consider that they serve sandwiches, pizza, hamburgers, etc., you might think it was going to be casual, but no; the thing is that everything is made in-house (even the breads, sausages and condiments) and assembled with an extremely artistic gourmet touch. Delicious to the palate and beautiful to the eye. Save space for the dessert sampler plate: one mini-portion of each of the desserts on the menu. Not slices from the larger serving, but exquisite mini-tarts, cakes, etc.
