“Superb 'get away from it all' location; relaxing, great service - highly recommend”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 7, 2012

We stayed 2 nights at the Corona Guest Farm. It was the first 2 nights of our holiday in Namibia and after a full 24 hours travel delay and no luggage we were tired and ready to relax. We were greeted with warmth, friendliness and the suggestion of a G&T by the pool to watch the sun go down. This small guest house is a real gem!

Is it for you? The guest house is a 30mins drive off the main gravel road and is in the middle of nowhere, so if you are looking for relaxation, amazing sunsets and sunrises, and peace and tranquility for a couple of days this really hits the mark.
If you are looking for a branded, chain hotel you are in the wrong place! It is a wonderful, relaxing, friendly and eclectic place.

The food is carefully and freshly prepared and you eat with the other guests in the main room. High quality food using, where possible, ingredients they grow/hunt themselves. Both breakfast and dinner were tasty and the staff introduce each course over dinner.

The rooms themselves are a bit tired in places (you are not in a chain hotel!) but in keeping with the feel of the place and we had good comfortable sleeps and found it a great way to start our holiday.

One of our favourite places we stayed in Namibia

We were sad to only stay here one night en route from Windhoek to Sossusvlei! The farm is located in a most picturesque valley, surrounded by fabulous mountains, which catch the light differently as the sun progresses across the sky. We arrived late in the afternoon, and it was fabulous to watch the colours and light gradually change across the view (and similarly at first light the next morning).

We were warmly welcomed by the host Janus, and shown our rather wonderful en suite rooms, which both had huge lounge areas too. The children insisted on using the freezing cold pool, but we just sat by it and drank in the views. My husband went for a stroll to a nearby lookout, just making it back in time for nightfall. There are more trails on the property which Janus can advise you on if you have time for a longer walk.

Dinner was really good (salad, butternut soup, oryx fillets, flambéed peaches, all delicious), accompanied by a glass of very good red wine, which we finished after the meal in front of the roaring open fire. Breakfast was another feast, all freshly prepared to perfection by the ladies in the kitchen.

We just loved it here - a very tranquil, secluded and simply beautiful place to chill out. We would love to go back.

We can only concur with the previous positive comments. Unfortunately, we could only stay in Corona Guest Farm for one night. We had a great family room and the best meal of our three weeks in Namibia. Compliments to the cook and staff! Also the service was comparable to a luxury hotel. The manager was very friendly and took us on a private sundowner game drive. We saw a lot of game; the game reserve is still wild and stunningly beautiful. After a game of late night chess and a good night's sleep, we woke up to an abundant and excellent breakfast. We would recommend Corona Guest Farm to anyone traveling to Namibia and looking for a nice place to stay and true hospitality. H. v. Doorn

So sorry we could only stay one night here; if we had kweond this was like paradise we had booked for longer stay. Ary teached us about nature life and game species ans Annemarie served a delicious dinner and breakfast.

We felt millionairs sleeping in the elephantroom. Intend to come back for sure!

We only stayed one night on our way from Windhoek to Sossusvlei, but it was great. The place is charming, food fantastic and creative and the manager is so friendly. There were a couple families staying and they seemed to be very kid-friendly. I wish we had more time for the trails and another night here.

I was on a drive/fly trip with a friend and our first stop was at Corona.

It was a great stay. I had no expectations going in and was very pleasantly surprised.

The place itself is remote - a plus if that is what you are looking for. You are not going to be bothered by road traffic noise thats for sure; you are about 12 kilometers off the main (dirt) road which already doesn't have any traffic. If doing this kind of trip, you should be doing it in a truck for ground clearance and peace of mind. That said, considering you really are in the middle of nowhere, you have all the amenities; great food, a pool, wonderful stars at night and a generous and welcoming host.

We only had one night but the food was lovely; kudu steaks! Highly recommended. Our breakfast the next day was borderline ridiculously huge as well. Great value for money.

If you are looking for a bit of 'get away', this is a great spot. Its also perfectly located if you are on your way to Sossusvlei; about half way and a nice day drive out of Windhoek.

I would definitely stay again on my next trip to Namibia and would likely stay for an extra day to get to soak up the pool and the ambiance in the area.

We used Corona as a stop-over between Windhoek and Sossusvlei. Only stayed one night. It seems most guests stay 1-2 nights.

Location is remote...challenging off-road drive to get there, which appealed to us. We were the only guests that night. The greeting was exceptionally warm. The owner/manager is a warm, gracious, lively and interesting host. Food was exceptional...an excellent kudu steak for dinner, and a breakfast table that puts to shame many of the big-name lodges in the region. Rooms are spacious and the common areas are warm and richly decorated. The grounds are well maintained and the gardens surrounding the lodge are pretty.

We didn't partake in any activities as we hit the road early. For what we expected and what we needed, Corona wildly exceeded expectations. If we had to do it again, we would gladly have stayed an extra night or two.
