I was here for a conference, so not in holiday mode, and somebody else was paying. However, this would be a good place for a relaxing few days, but probably not much longer. The atmosphere is great - lots of well tended gardens, a sandy beach (although I think that the sand is imported), wide views over the lake (take care to avoid the schistosomiasis and crocs though), a nice big swimming pool and a lakeside bar. The food is very good. There is internet, but its slow and patchy (unless you do your emails at 5am). The service is similar - sometimes outstanding and sometimes absent. But if you have time, then waiting 15mins for a G&T looking over the lake isn't the worst thing in the world (Fig 1). The accommodation is a high standard, although I think that holes in mosquito net is a major negative point. So lots of good points, and I would happily stay again if passing, but I wouldn't make a great effort to get there.
