I stay at a lot of Marriotts and Residence Inns. This one is good but not great. I got the one bed room which is the same size as the studio but with a wall.
The shower pressure was very low. The hotel was clean with the exception of the workout room which smelled horribly of sweat, mildew and a lot of air freshener.
Breakfast was good and the staff was friendly. I would stay here again. Close to a couple of restaurants and a movie theatre. Just don't expect the best.

Stayed on Long Island to visit my husband's grandmother at her new home in June with our two young kids. Booked a one-bedroom suite through the Residence Inn web site. We checked in late and were told that our room (handicapped, which we didn't request) was given away and they were looking for an available room. The room we were given was a studio, not the one-bedroom on our confirmation, and we were informed that there is no guarantee of the room selection, only a room "preference." (It turns out that the one-bedroom and the studio are the same price.) We were told to check with the desk the following morning about switching rooms. (Also, had to ask for sheets for the sofa bed since they were missing from the closet even though the front desk insisted the sheets should be there.) The next morning the front desk clerk was rude and told us that since we weren't premier Marriott members (members, yes but not premier) we were at the bottom of the list for room selection and probably couldn't switch. Finally after the manager arrived at 10am, my husband was able to convince him to switch us to a one-bedroom.

As for the hotel itself, since they accept pets, the rooms seemed to have a faint pet smell. Also, the dining area is a litlle small and cramped; we had to wait for a table one morning and the tables are set close together. The dinners provided on weeknights were okay, though they were not as good as the Homewood Suites (near Grandma's old home), which offers wine and beer every night (as opposed to just on Italian nights) and a broader menu. We did enjoy the pool area.

Since we will be visiting Grandma on a regular basis, we will probably end up here again but I wish there was a Homewood Suites near by.

I travel constantly for work. I am true to Marriott in general but sometimes have to stay elsewhere. This Marriott in particular is a step above the rest. The staff includes some of the most friendly people I have ever met. The rooms - exceptionally clean! The grounds of the hotel were lovely (beautiful landscaping) and the amenities were very nice. The indoor pool was great, not to mention the large hott tub. Any time I called down to the front desk the staff seemed to get friendlier and friendlier. The housekeepers always smiling and warm in the hallways. I really appreciated my recent stay here - 3 weeks was a long time to be away from home, but they do everything in their power to make you comfortable. I strongly advise this hotel if you want to be in a comfortable, "home-like" environment.

The worst experience, it is cheap, but there is a reason. The hotel is overun with kids who are left unsupervised in the rooms because baseball haven is nearby. They are running the halls all night and screaming and slamming doors. Parents stay in separate rooms.

Our room was next to a room with cats, that the man did not clean the litter box for days, when you got off the elevator the stinking urine smell was overwhelming. Our room and clothing stunk of cat urine...It was unbelievable how disgusting this experience was. When an opening came, I was moved to another room, but I had to wait days to move to another room.
