My wife and I went to the Seneca Lake Wine Trail for an overnight visit and stayed at the Magnolia Place B&B in Hector. On a Monday in early November, the wineries were uncrowded so we got plenty of attention. We are not regular drinkers but bought several bottles of wine anyway. At the B&B, we were one of two couples there. Our hosts made us feel very welcome and served up a terrific breakfast on Tuesday morning. We shared a table with the other couple and enjoyed the conversation. Although the Magnolia Place is an older venue, the owners have taken care of every detail to make your stay a comfortable one. We will definitely return during warmer weather and use the B&B as a base to visit other attractions in the area (Watkins Glen State Park, the racetrack, Corning Glass and Ithaca). A note of caution, Monday in the fall is not a good night for eating out, as most of the local restaurants are closed. However, there are several in Watkins Glenn which is only a short drive away.
