My husband and I became fond of the Quality Inn when we stayed at one in Charlotte, NC. If you are ever looking for a great one, go there!
This particular Quality Inn looked decent on the outside and I really had no problem with the room...that is BEFORE I woke up in the morning. The rooms themselves were nice. You can tell they had recently been renovated. The bathroom, however, looked like it could use quite a bit of updating.
Fast forward to the morning when I woke up and found the room charge paper under my door. I live in Virginia. I was given a charge bill with MY NAME on it, but an address in CONNETICUT! I decided I would go to the front desk to get this straightened out after I showered for the day. I wanted to be sure I wasn't charged for someone's room as well as mine.
I was traveling with some extended family and my father decided to shower first. I am glad he did because I was totally disgusted after seeing what I am about to describe as a wave pool in the bath tub. We found the tub had actually pulled away from the moldy tiled shower surround. Water from other guest's showers had run between the wall and the bathtub. This caused the floor of the tub to be raised about 4 to 5 inches and wave with each step. My father almost fell because the floor was so uneven. What made it so disgusting is thinking...how many other people have showered in here and their nasty germ water is under the tub floor! Also, there is a hazard for MOLD with stagnant water in a tub!
After getting ready as best I could without a shower, I went to the front desk with my father so he could complain, along with me about the shower. I began with my Room Charge bill with the wrong address. I was told "it doesn't matter whose address is on the bill...that's why we don't put the amount. You already paid for it, so it doesn't matter."
My father and I told them about the bathtub and that he almost fell in there. We tried to get this clerk to realize it is a health hazard as well as a liability issue! He didn't have an "I CARE" attitude...it was almost like he didn't want to be bothered with us! There was no saying "what can I do to rectify the situation?" There wasn't "I am so sorry you had a faulty bathtub." No offer of credit or another complimentary breakfast (you only get 2 per room). He just didn't want to be bothered with us.
I have filed a formal complaint with Quality Inn...just waiting to hear back. I would call this hotel a LOW Quality Inn!
