“Absolutely the Best”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 2, 2010

We stayed for three days and wished we could have stayed longer. Our room was charming and inviting. We were accommodated with a private room for our dinner party of seven. The atmosphere was intimate and made the occasion special. The dinner was delicious, the service was wonderful. Mostly I can't say enough about our hosts. They were engaging, met our every need and wish. Our stay was memorable and we will definateely return when we are in New York again.

I have just returned from the Finger Lakes region of New York State. Spent a wonderful two days at the Benn Conger Inn in the small village of Groton, NY. It was a wonderful place to stay with all the amenities but the quaintness of a small inn. Just perfect place to stay with wonderful owners and staff. Our meal was for a small group of business colleagues, appr. 15, and it was superb. The food was excellent, service was perfect and had a lovely evening. Rooms were very large and roomy with our bathroom having a whirlpool tub.
I would wholeheartedly recommend this business and am hoping that I will return in the future for a longer stay.

Went for my friend's wedding. Pete and Doug were great helping set up all the details to make her day special. The room I stayed in was wonderful, with a huge bathroom and really comfortable bed. I wish I could have been able to stay longer unfortunately I had an early morning flight to make, Pete and Doug made sure I had something to take with me for the road and I have to say the pistachio muffin was great. Highly recommend the inn.

Beautiful Inn so very tastefully decorated.
Well appointed room with comfy bed and spotless, spacious bathroom. Balcony overlooking the grounds and garden.
The meals were delicious, the service excellent and we certainly enjoyed dining in glassed in splendor in the atrium.
The surrounding country side offers vineyards and waterfalls to visit.
Peter and Doug were perfect hosts and looked after every detail. Their welcoming, attentive and accommodating service made our stay special to me.

Peter and Doug could not have been more attentive and wonderful during the planning stages leading up to our fantastic wedding event. I have never worked with a more efficient and friendly staff that made every part of our day special! The accommodations are beautiful as are the grounds. Our day was made all the more special having it at the Benn Conger. Peter even gave "ghost tours" to the delight of our guests. Thanks so much for the personal service! We will be back!!

What an amazing place to stay. I have never felt so at home away from home. We traveled to the Benn Conger for a family wedding, and it was magnificent. The Inn Keepers/Owners, Peter Zon and Douglas Yurubi, made us feel so at home. The rooms were absolutely magnificent. I recommend the original building. The attention to detail in the arches, windows, eclectic furnishings, etc., is unsurpassed. The newer building features things like jetted bathtubs and separate showers, but I so prefer the older with character. Peter and Doug rescued this property from foreclosure and destruction and have painstakingly restored it to its former magnificence. Mr. Conger would be pleased. It's only about 20-25 minutes from Cornell University. They even have a vegetable garden - what can get fresher than that. I would absolutely, without a doubt stay here again, and I would definitely recommend it to anyone travelling to that area.

Our Dragon Boat Team traveled from Ottawa Canada to participate in the Ithaca dragon boat festival. Our hosts Peter and Doug went over and above anything you could imagine innkeepers could do. They had our breakfasts bagged and coffee ready for our early morning departure. Upon our return they had a feast ready for our team, including a special cake. The food quality, service, decor atmosphere and hospitality was outstanding!

I had the pleasure to stay 3 nights in the Jr. Suite, purple room with beautiful antiques and lovely duvets. The room was very spacious with two bedrooms and a lovely sitting room.

If you are looking for an Inn that's extra special and reasonably priced with Inn Keepers who go the extra mile to keep you happy, look no further you have found the perfect home away from home.

Thank you Doug and Peter for making our stay unforgettable.
