I just got back from another wonderful vacation in Long Island, New York. I stayed at the Sound View Inn as I have for the last 5 years. I thought I would post my thoughts on the Sound View Inn. First off, you will never find the nicest office staff around, they are like a family who make you feel comfortable right away. The cleaning staff is also very friendly, there was never a problem with them helping you with anything extra I needed. The rooms I find to be very spacious and comfortable, especially the suites. The lifeguards at the pool are very helpful and friendly as well. The main building is also very nice after they did the renovations. They also now have a gathering room and fitness area. I will be back at least two more times this year before summer ends.

I've traveled all over Europe through the years, have seen many beautiful places and never knew there could be a place like this so close to me like the Soundview Inn!
The rooms face the Sound and the water is so beautiful, crystal clear and calm. If you don't like the water, this can change your mind! And they have a workout room for all us health nuts!
You have the Soundview Restaurant, walking distance from your room, great food, friendly staff, unbelievable sunset, you feel like you're on a cruise. What more can you ask for?
The CT ferry is minutes away from the Soundview Inn, the enchanting town of Greenport is 5 minutes by car, great shopping and of course the wine tours!
I'm a long time customer at the Soundview Inn and have friends who are now regulars.

Not only this motel is outdated and dirty, the noise from the street was unbelievable. There was an ongoing traffic all night, none of us slept that night. I felt like I was sleeping outside right next to a high way. I don't know who can stand this noise and ever want to go back to the place!!
Also, we paid the high price of $255 for a night!
After one night stay, we cancelled the next night and left, cutting our vacation short.

The place may "need some work", but I've found that is typical of beachfront properties. Our room was nice and clean, but we were there in early May and it is pretty slow that time of year.

We enjoyed sitting on the narrow deck outside our room, but could envision people walking by you regularly when they are busy. The room also sits about 50 feet from the road, so it might cause problems for light sleepers.

The adjacent restaurant is a convenient walk from your room. It provides a nice, sunset view for dinner. We had one good dinner and one bad.
