If you are looking for the best, classiest, prettiest & most convenient B&B on the North Fork, this is IT. The Bartlett House has new owners (Jack & Diane, isn't that cute?) who have thrown their hearts, souls & a large amount of money into remaking this house the Grand Dame that it most certainly was when it was first built. If you visited before, or have seen the old website (think pink, baby blue & dusty doilies), FORGET IT. I almost didn't stay here because the website hasn't been updated - with good cause: owner Diane (former decorater for Ethan Allen who just oooozes Style) has been busy focusing her efforts on getting this place completely renovated. On a cold, wintery Wednesday we had to be in Greenport on business and Diane couldn't have been more accommodating - we were given bottles of water for our nightstands, shown to our stunning Master Suite (with fire already roaring in the fireplace) and then given a tour of all the rooms. Every last one had those little touches that make you go "ooh!" Our second favorite was the Asian Room, but really, they are all wonderful. Breakfast the next morning left us practically rolling out the door - fresh coffee, juice, choice of cold cereals, warm rolls & bagels, eggs, etc. And the dinner recommendation for the previous evening put us to bed with sugarplums dancing in our heads - head to the Frisky Oyster a few blocks away.
Should you need even further encouragement for this place, note this: I am PICKY PICKY PICKY as to where I stay, and this is certainly in the Top 3 of all the boutique hotels/B&B's I've stayed in. I particularly recommend it if you're a Bride looking for a beautiful, hospitable place to house friends, family & yourself for a Country Wedding, you'll be particularly pleased. Enjoy It!
