“Should be opened sooner...thank you.”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed June 17, 2013

The museum didn't open unti we were boarding our train to return to NYC...If the museum had been opened earlier we would have attempted to visit. We have been there several years ago and know it is worth revisiting

“For whalers, fisherman and lovers of all things Maritime”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 8, 2013

Every waterfront resort town has it's story and there is non better than Greenport's. Home to whaling ships at the turn of the century along with canneries, barges and shipyards. Greenport was also the North East center of "rum-running" during prohibition with deliveries going right into Claudio's docks. Check out the History Channel's episode on Greenport. I love the camera obscura too!

“Maritime festival”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 11, 2012

Greenport Long Island is a delightful way to spend a weekend. Stroll through the streets and pop in and out of delightful shops. Stroll to the harbor and see all the big ships docked there and at Claudo's, ride on the old Grumman merry go round , stop by at Angella's shop for some delightful candy and browse at all the unique merchandise she has on display, stop at Preston's for those fishing & boating things you need. Eating there is a wide choice of fine restraunts to choice from, all and all a delightful day. Maritime Festival is a big event in Greenport held every year in September, don't miss it.

“Disappointing”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed September 1, 2012

Bathrooms were not available to patrons. My family was told that the restroom was for employees only! We had small children and it was a Saturday. Really pushed their lighthouse cruises, which are exspensive. They seem to be in business for cruises only because it is not much of a museum.

“A Memorable Maritime Experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 30, 2012

Located in the original and charming Greenport railroad station the museum houses some beautiful historic treasures of Greenport's nautical past. If you're at all interested in seeing Greenport as it once was you should definitely make this a stop.
