“Delightful experience”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 3, 2013

We were exploring the area and were tempted by the aromas when we looked into this restaurant and decided to have dinner. It has a very nice atmosphere, and our waiter started us out with a plate of pita an hummus. We decided to share small plates, and had an assortment of Greek cheeses, Spinakopata, Greek sausage and Moussaka. Each was well flavored, and each had a different flavor. I've been in some "Greek" restaurant where everything tasted the same, clearly in Ethos each dish has its own signature. After dinner our waiter brought us a small plate of Bakalava. Again, it was nothing like the gooey, sticky, overly sweet mess that some places serve- it was delicate and flaky with a very light honey.
They say they are working on getting a liquor license- when they do I hope they choose to serve some authentic Greek wines.

“Excellent service and food!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 14, 2013 via mobile

I came today for lunch the food was excellent, portions were generous and service was great. The prices are very reasonable and I loved how clean and beautiful the restaurant is decorated. Loved it, will come back again.

“Absolutely wonderful!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 10, 2013

I had a Groupon for about a year which was due to expire within about 10 days so I tried this place on a Sunday afternoon with my sister for an early dinner. It was easy to miss as you passed by but definitely worth the effort to find. The menu was a little different from what we'd seen on the website but we were not disappointed. We shared an appetizer of melted Feta, tomatoes, peppers...on warm whole wheat and white pita bread which was amazing. The Greek salad was the best either of us had ever had. The feta was a high quality cheese that wasn't too salty and had just the right amount of bite. My sister raved that the moussaka she had will forever spoil her for that dish at her other favorite Greek restaurants since her eyes were now opened to just how much better it was at this place. I abandoned my plan to have fish to try a clay pot baked boneless chicken with fresh tomato sauce and feta orzo dish which was delicious.
Our meal was perfectly finished with high quality tea and cappuccino to accompany the best baklava we'd ever had and an introduction to an item we learned was a house specialty, and deservedly so...Galaktoboureko, which looked a lot like the baklava but was filled with semolina. Heaven!
The dining room was much larger than you would expect from the outside. Greek themed music playing in the background really added to the authenticity of the place
We told the host/waiter and we suspect chef how much we enjoyed the experience there and our intention to return to try the fresh fish they specialize making. Demetri was pleasant, helpful, and patient with all my questions and was just as important to the dining experience as the food. I highly recommend this place.

“Nice taste of Greek”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2013

We were working in Great Neck for the week and on the way back to the hotel from Starbucks I happened to pass by Ethos and look at the menu. It looked interesting, so we tried it for dinner that night. The restaurant does not have a liquor license but there is a great little wine shop right around the corner so stop there first. The waitstaff were quite attentive and helpful with suggestions. We ordered the saganaki for an appetizer. Two in the party shared a wonderful Greek salad. There is an assortment of fresh fish to choose from which can be cooked in a variety of ways. They will also take off the head and debone it for you. I had the moussaka which was perfectly done. All in all, Ethos has a great atmosphere and a wonderful choice of Greek food.

“The Greek Gods might approve!”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 16, 2013 via mobile

Our party was looking for something different yet authentic, this was the place. First thing we noticed it was a BYOB, a bit of a disappointment since the local liquor store had already closed. Pita bread and hummus was the starter along with a Greek salad both were good. We had the grape leaf wraps, very tasty. Then our party had fish, steak, ground lamb and lamb kabobs. Other than the steak everyone was impressed with the taste and portions. Service was very attentive and the Greek music and decor made it an enjoyable meal.
