“Spectacular Sainte Anne Resort”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 27, 2013

We visited Sainte Anne Resort Seychelles from 7 th to 17th november 2012.

Some of our options for a romantic vacation was Maldives, Seychelles and Mauritius.
By reading other reviews from Tripadvisor, it was almost impossible to choose between these fantastic and beautiful destinations. But, one of the Resorts gave us the right feeling of tranquility and genuine atmosphere.
However, one of the reviews made us uncertain of the Sainte Anne Resort . They informed of bad service, lack of maintenance, limited selection of beverages and meals.
Another review told us that they almost cancelled their honeymoon because of the same bad review. Fortunately, they visited Sainte Anne, and had the most magnificent experience of their lifetime.
We therefore decided to stay at Sainte Anne…..

And, we had a vacation beyond our imagination <3

When we arrived at the resort yeti, their kindness and hospitality gave us immediatelly feeling of beeing special. That feeling followed us throughout our entire stay at the resort. We want to mention Jannick at the reseption. And the adorable trainees Daniella and Sophia.

Our Pool villa, nr 554, was really gorgeous. Inside and outside areas had the most incredible look and design. The placement of our villa had just a few meters from the most spectacular beach. We had the best service and maintenance at our villa by Eranga. He was efficient, thorough with a sparkling and humble personality.

By choosing the all-inklusive package we had a premium level of food selections and beverages. The 5 different restaurants gave a first class opportunity of options.

The Robinson is really unique, and delicat placed at the beach, with the beautiful look and special menu. Sitting alone with just a few other couples around. Very romantic atmosphere!

Le mont Fleuri is a gourmet restaurant with the best food you can imagine. And the most gorgeous and lovely head waitress named Dominic. She gave us an extraordinary evening on our 5 th anniversary. We have never ever experienced such a magnificent and varm service. She is truly the most bright, attentive, knowledgeable waitress we have met in our journeys. We also want to mention a trainee named Audrey, which is a lovely and good trained assistant of Dominic.

L`oseane is also a nice and good placed lunch and dinner restaurant, with seafood menu. You can sit barefoot and enjoy the meal intimately by the beach.

At the buffet restaurant, there was always a variety of meals from different corners of the world. Many selections of desserts, and wines. To our regret Frontera is not available in Norway. We can absolutely recommend every selection of this wine (white, red and rosè)  Some of the staff made our day everytime; Frederick with the big smile, always ready with mango and passionfruit for ”mylady”. Barbara for making dinner reservations etc. Ganesh, Saman, Princilla, Johanna and Tashira always with impeccable service, giving us good laughs and interesting conversations at the table. We really miss you all!!! And at last we have to mention Karl, restaurant manager, for exellent information, advise and good humor.

Management of the resort should be proud of their staff which provide such a remarkable personal attention at all times. Even after a long day, they still managed to give us a genuine feeling of being among friends. We really hope that the persons we have mentioned are credited for their exceptional effort, lojality and high service level towards their guests.

We are comparing our experience with some of our other vacations around the world. Such as Bora Bora Intercontinental Thalasso & Spa and Pearl Resort Moorea. Fantastic places with extremely high level of service, discretion and magnificent locations.
However, we will strongly recommend Sainte Anne Resort for the excellent service, suprime accomodation, spectacular surroundings and magical atmosphere.

Thank you for making our romatic holiday unforgettable.

Best regards from Marianne and Frank from Norway:)

Decided to try another Indian Ocean Island holiday and chose the Seychelles and the 5 Star Sainte Anne was recommended by the travel agent.
Seychelles: while it is a very pretty island, the Seychelles generally is extremely expensive relative to the other Indian Ocean island options available.
Resort Physical Location - the beaches were disappointing as the sea and beaches are constantly covered in seaweed, making it rather unpleasant. Also, lots of plastic litter and broken glass around as well. The island grounds itself is full of litter and detritus from previous occupants and needs a good ‘cleaning’. Resort Layout - resort is laid out around two beaches but the result is that it is quite far from the rooms to the various main activity centres. The result is that there are lots of golf carts with staff whizzing past as you trudge between them which can be quite annoying. Hotel Rooms - the rooms are well designed and spacious. However, the equipment is ‘tired’ and leaves a lot to be desired ( TV’s that aren’t tuned properly, room fans and air-conditioners that make loud noises in the middle of the night, threadbare towels, etc). The room’s outdoor furniture was also quite weather beaten. Room service needs to be tensioned up as there are perhaps too many people responsible for different things (bar fridge stocking, pool cleaning, bed making , towels etc ) creating lapses. Restaurants and food – the various restaurant options were okay and the food was good, but was far too ‘French’ for my liking and for the climate. Sadly there was very little Seychelloise cuisine on offer as well. Restaurant staff, while very pleasant, need a lot more training on the basics to meet the required professionalism of a 5 Star venue. Resort Activities and equipment - while the gym is well appointed, not everybody goes on an island holiday to train and too much emphasis is placed on this aspect of the resort. Watersports equipment, while on the beach, was not easily accessible and thus hardly used. Bicycles and other equipment could also do with maintenance. All inclusive package – choice of drinks was limited and a bit disappointing. Spa – was very good.

While the holiday and the staff was very pleasant, the main issue was that this was sadly far from being a 5 Star venue with 5 Star service.

What a place, the staff members were going out of their way to make us comfortable. At the main restaurant Priscilla, Ravish and Frederich were very hospitable, friendly and helpful. The Island is very beautiful and the variety of restaurants came in handy. New year's eve was the best we were treated like royalty. I will recommend it to anyone with children below 12 years as the Island is child friendly.

We have the most amazing memories, photographs (2700 in fact!) and stories to share with families and friends. We refer to Sainte Anne as “yes” island because nothing was too much effort or a problem. From arriving at the jetty all the way through to departure, we were overwhelmed by all the wonderful things the island and staff had to offer.

We thoroughly enjoyed the various guided walks on offer each day as well and cycling around the island. The snorkelling off the beach was incredible and we were able to do 2 snorkelling trips per day to different spots by boat. We also played table tennis and billiards. Volley ball and a fully equipped gym, sauna, steam room were also all on offer but we ran out of time since there are so many options.

The rooms are large and the air conditioners work extremely well. The additional outside shower was amazing and showering in a beautiful private garden partially in the sun was quite an experience. The bathrooms are huge with a separate toilet and bidet.

The staff are very friendly and helpful and nothing is ever too much trouble or a problem. The food at all of the restaurants not only looked spectacular but tasted delicious as well. The setting and décor in all of the restaurants makes for unforgettable moments and photographs. There is also an excellent variety of restaurants which alternate between formal fine dining to relaxed with your feet in the sand. There is something for everyone!

The bars and barmen offer exotic and simple cocktails. You can make up your own variations and mixes or they recommend and shake up something special with your preferences.

This island is a treasure for the eyes, body and soul!

We booked this hotel through the American Express travel agency. The first day everything was okay, we changed rooms because they were too close to the arrival dock. We waited a long time until we could have the rooms.
The rooms are big with a terrace. The rooms were okay, on my point of view for the night on the side of the bed we only hade reading lights, I would have prefered to have a real bedside lampe.
Concerning the bathrooms, we could not lock the door (there is no way of locking it) and the bathtub is too small.
The housekeeping was average, the room were done every day and relly like the way the put our pyjamas on the bed, but otherwise the soaps were not changed when they needed to, and they did not vacuume everyday which was disturbing with the sand on the floor. Something i was really angry at was that i left my bathrobe so they could clean it, but they did not replace it, I had to ask for two times.
The Restaurants were good, my favorite was "Robinson" it is situated on the beach.
Two thing i liked was the dive master who was great, really friendly and funny, and the SPA, which was perfect they have good massages and the setting is idyllic.
In overall i would not recommend this hotel, except for the spa and the dive master.

Room Tip: A room that do not have a view on the wind turbine on the main island

With two small kids (3 &1) and a limited amount of family holidays a year, we really expect our holidays to be well planned and smoothly run. St Anne by all accounts should based on all the reviews received here be top notch and worthy of a five star rating, however as regular visitors to various Indian Ocean islands, we expect a certain level of service that we've come to expect of a 5 star resort. The Mauritian staff are actually the saving grace of an otherwise mediocre service from locals, with many lost in interpretation moments or "I forgot" incidences. Rooms are good and very well maintained and kept, but attention to detail is lacking especially in room service and housekeeping. Restaurants are very good, with quality and variety brilliant. The all inclusive package makes sense, but choice of drinks is limited to local brands. Normally this would be ok, but if you are catering to a very world clientele, it would make sense to have more recognized brands on offer even if it was "extra". The kids club lacks toys or "friendly" staff hence in the two weeks that we were there - no parents trusted the club manager to leave their kids there. I would suggest beachcomber investigate what is the real problem with the kids club. Resort activities are good, but with detoriating quality of equipment, one struggles to find usable sports equipment. Gym is fantastic and well maintained. Beaches are also fantastic, but do need to be swept each day to keep the abundance of seaweed away.

Room Tip: All room locations are great, but choose ones away from the generator near the seafood restaurant...

I have stayed at Sainte Anne three times now and each time I stay, I come away so relaxed, refreshed and happy. I could write a lengthy review about every wonderful aspect, but actually it is every small detail which accumulates to make this my favourite place.
The natural beauty of the island is breathtaking and the staff are so genuinely warm and friendly, they cannot do enough to help make your stay perfect and memorable.
Thank-you to all the staff; from Karen's cheery welcome, Fredericks' smile each morning at breakfast, Govind who made sure our room was perfect and even got up at 4am to wave us off. Kervyn and Norbert, who welcome us so warmly each visit and make it special. We will be back!
To anyone considering a stay at Sainte Anne Resort, I would recommend a Beach Villa with private pool which is lovely to have even though it is only steps away from the beach!
We loved our hot stone meal at Le Robinson, lunch at L'Oceane and don't miss the creole night at the main restaurant. No visit should be without an evening in Le Mont Fleurie, where the food is superb and the waiters, especially Manoj, were smiling yet discreet.
I would recommend Sainte Anne Resort for anyone celebrating any occasion and if you don't have an occasion to celebrate, then go anyway(who needs an excuse?!)

Room Tip: I like the villas near Le Mont Fleurie as it is particularly peaceful there.
