“Best for Bard!”

We went up from Brookyn for an opera at the Frank Gehry Theatre and after many years of trying out places on the area we have found our favorite! VERY convenient for the college and nearby Tivoli (great dinner options there) we enjoyed the zen like peace of the place, surrounded by woods where the very gracious owner has cleared out a beautiful and easy path, which you will need in the am after the scrumtpious breakfast she serves.... rooms superclean, spacious and well appointment with antique furnishings, comfortable beds and nice bath with towels galore, and large common rooms and several sitting options outside, including a beautiful hammock. It is away from the hustle and bustle of Rheinbeck, and very convenient for visiting Clermont, Montgomery Place and Olana. The owner is very nice and helpful and even left us (uncautiusly!) with wine and a great local cheeses plate for before the opera...

“A great place to recharge, relax and renew your energy”

We spent 3 nights at Patricia Heller's B& B. Patricia made us feel comfortable from the time we arrived. When we got lost on our way due to a bridge detour she quickly came to our aid and drove to meet us. Our king size suite was well appointed with unique antiques, very clean with a large very comfortable bed and private bath. The living and dining rooms were open and inviting with their large windows looking out on the Catskill mountains. The back deck was wonderful for brunch or afternoon wine and cheese which she provided. Patricia is a wonderful, fun and delightful hostess who made us feel very at home.
She gave us great suggestions on local attractions including unique musical productions at Bard College to Poets Walk, to the Madalin Hotel in Tivoli. We enjoyed our visit and felt very refreshed and recharged after our stay in this quiet mountain top retreat. If you don't mind driving a little out of town A Mountain View Retreat is well worth a visit.

“Hostess practiced kindness and compassion at every moment”

Patricia Heller, the owner of this bed and breakfast, was exceptionally kind and attentive to our every need, She made us tea and cookies before bed, lovely breakfasts with special organic foods because my friend requested them, came out to push my car in her nightgown and boots when it got stuck on the icy driveway, looked up the movie times at Upstate Films( a great old style theatre in very nearby Rhinebeck) and mostly sharing stories and advice about her life and ours. She is an incredible person dedicated to healing. The rooms were very nice, clean, filled with eclectic antiques and attention to detail. Our two guest rooms shared an adequate bathroom. We felt very comfortable in a large kitchen and living room filled with curios from Patricia's life, The location is in the woods, she led us on a hike. It is also central to several quaint towns. We had a good meal at a restaurant called Gigi's in Rhinebeck.
