“Great Escape!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 10, 2014 via mobile

Spent an escape get away evening here. The room was comfortable and well appointed, just like home. The staff was very friendly, from the bellman to the front end staff, they made you feel very welcome.
Dinner was very good, nice selection, well prepared and presented nicely. The wine selection is excellent, with a nice selection of New York wines.
Despite being here in the winter, the view was still fantastic. We will come back.

Thanks to Trip Advisor and Select Registry, we found the most intimate place to welcome in the New Year. This charming inn has the most gracious staff, location and character. We were able to book the whirlpool suite. It is the first time that we have had a real 2 person tub in a room and it has its own room!. Both of us could stretch out to our full height ( my husband is 6'2") and enjoy a nice soak. This suite has a kitchenette, separate bathroom from the tub, bedroom and a very spacious and comfortable living room. They know how to throw a very intimate gala for New Year's Eve as they limit if to only guests of the inn. The owner greeted us at the cocktail hour and told us some of the history of the inn. Dinner was a seated, served 3 course meal with selections from a menu. We both enjoyed the duck entrée which was delicious. We retired to our room to watch the ball drop but could have stayed in the dining room for a champagne toast. The buffet brunch on New Year's morning was elegant. We are so enamored with this place that we have already reserved the whirlpool suite for next year!

Room Tip: The staff is very upfront about the lack of elevators but there is staff readily available to help w...

On a recent road trip, we made an unexpected stop here. The staff was incredibly friendly and helpful, especially Carol on the front desk. We were shown to a studio on the third floor and it was extremely cozy, well kept and efficient with a beautiful view of the lake. The dinner in the old dining room was wonderful with fresh local ingredients. I would recommend this to anyone needing a little mini-break.

A nice stay at Geneva on the Lake...bit disconcerting to be checked in on arrival by a gum chewing, earring bedecked chap but hey ho! Nice room, needs a bit of tlc, room far too hot and aircon did not see to make much difference so had to jam window open at night..pretty efficient snow clearing operation next morning, and a decent enough continental breakfast.

This Inn is a really nice mix of old world charm and relaxed American friendliness. The Inn has genuine history to it, and was not originally built as an Inn --- so expect some idiosyncrasies. It is not well suited to those who have physical disabilities for example. That said, there is charm at every turn, each room is unique and the whole place is well kept. It is apparent that the management are updating the rooms little by little so one can forgive the odd "dated" element. The staff were exceptional in both professionalism and willingness to assist guests. We showed up off the street and we were greeted as new found friends. The worlds best bell man, Jason, was assigned to show us around and did so with enthusiasm and humour. He actually sold us on a higher priced room than we would normally seek ( there were more affordable choices available). Dinner in the intimate dining room was a joy, but it was not at capacity so it was quiet and service was prompt. The meal itself was well prepared and appropriate to the cost and the five star ambience. Our included continental breakfast the next morning was more than adequate for us, and served at a table in the classy restaurant. That started our day off with a smile. Overall a thoroughly enjoyable stay in a unique, well run establishment. If you want to splurge in a romantic setting with great staff this is definitely a good choice.

Room Tip: All rooms are unique and offer their own personality. Choose one that appeals to you that is within...

We stayed in a Townhouse, two floors, two bedrooms, 1.5 baths, kitchen and living room. I was very taken with the floor plan and it was very comfortable with a sliding door walk out to a patio and view of the Lake. Either the dish washer was added later or the planning was off as a kitchen drawer was blocked by it. Because it was off season - October - there were few other guests but I am sure in the summer, it is busy and lively. The pool looks great and the water side amenities are likely very pleasant. We saw a number of deer on the extensive grounds. Staff seemed very nice and laid back. Beds were comfy, shower was great and WiFi didn't even require a password. Great location - we toured around the finger lakes and were in easy reach of a number of interesting sites.

Room Tip: No idea how the main house is bu the townhouses are quite nice.

From check-in to check-out and everything in between, the staff at this place really works hard to make sure you are comfortable and enjoying yourself. It seems like everyone who works there has a vested interest in the place and truly cares about the guests. We also met the owner who was happy to take time out of his busy day and chat with us about the place, his family, things to do in the area and places to eat. They put bottles of water and a bottle of wine in the refrigerator to welcome you and also have turn down service with chocolates every night, definitely nice touches. Wifi works great and they also have a good library of DVD movies to watch. They'll also give you coupons for the nearby wineries too.

They have a short boat ride every day, croquet, bocce and horseshoes out back and a very nice patio. There are also bikes to ride including a tandem bike, which we used, a new experience. They had a wine & cheese tasting Friday evening also with the owner who talked to everyone and it was a nice time. It was too cold to use the pool while we were there but it looks nice and well maintained. Dinner in the dining room was pricey but good. Breakfast was included in our stay and was delicious (although they seemed understaffed and overwhelmed on Saturday, when we checked out, had to go up and ask the waiter for juice, water and tea).

Calling this place a "resort" might be a bit of a stretch, it is more like a large bed and breakfast with a few more activities than the typical bed and breakfast would have, but is a good way to relax and pamper yourself. I also found it a little pricey for that part of the state at that time of year, but I would imagine the neighboring establishment (Belhurst) is even more expensive and I am sure it is costly for them to have the size of staff that they have to give the kind of attention that is given. Still, if you want a quiet and romantic place with a staff to attend to your needs, this would be it.

Room Tip: There are large rooms and small rooms, depends on what you're looking for. All of the rooms, as...
