“Really, really nice Sunday Brunch.”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 26, 2012

I was a little apprehensive about driving 2 hours for my birthday brunch after reading some of the negative reviews here. But I could not have been more impressed by the food, atmosphere and service. The food presentation and selection was as good as or better than any resort I've stayed at. Our waitress was very attentive and kept our glasses filled, offering Bloody Marys or Mimosas in the afternoon. After spending our meal in the dining area, I would love to go back to stay at the Castle for an overnight. The Building was beautiful with a very interesting history. The view of the lake was also very nice. Great selection of wine and gift items in the gift shop as well.

“Wonderful Thanksgiving Dinner”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 25, 2012

Everything was amazing - the turkey was delicious, the appetizers and desserts were amazing. So much food for one price. We were stuffed.

“Old World charm with magnificent views”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 20, 2012

Edgar's is the main restaurant inside Belhurst Castle it features old world charm, and depending on the room you are in views of Seneca lake. We were seated in the center room and although we did not have a view of the lake we did have views of beautiful intricately carved wood decor and a magnificant entryway fireplace.
Our waiter was Eric and he did an excellent job describing the entree's and providing recommendations for appetizers, the main entree, and right down to the dessert at the end.
The portions are very large so come prepared with a big appetite or you will definitely have leftovers to take home. We had calamari for our appetizer in a tomato salsa & shredded Asiago chhese it was excellent. We both had the center Cut Iceberg salad, which included chopped tomatoes, Bacon, cucumbers, Blue cheese, and buttermilk Peppercorn dressing it turned out to be an excellent choice and a meal in itself.
I had the 10oz Filet Mignon with seasonal vegetables and my wife the Chicken with Chorizo , roasted pistachios, and Chevre Cream for our main course both were the best
and prepared to perfection. We also enjoyed a glass of wine from the winery and would recommend a taste of the fingerlake wines grown in this area.
Edgars is an excellent restaurant and should be on your list for fine dining on one of the fingerlakes. This is by no means a cheap meal but for that special occassion or if you want to enjoy a very fine meal it should be on your consideration list. Reservations are recommended especially in the busy season

“A Wonderful Breakfast Buffet.......”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 16, 2012

A group of us had breakfast in the castle after staying over night and it was great.

They had a large variety to choose from but the highlight was the made-to-order omelet station. You could stand there and watch while she made the omelets and she was a real pro.

Would highly recommend the breakfast buffet for $10.

“A Stately Lunch Buffet”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed February 15, 2012

As soon as you enter the foyer to Edgar's it is like to a journey in time back to regal elegance. I am all about atmosphere and this is the place to experience it. The weekly $11.00 lunch buffet is a great deal just for the food, but the european elegance is over the top. The dining hall is an elaborate carved wood labyrinth and the dining area has beautiful lakeviews. The selection was more than enough, with various wine based sauces paired with meat and light salads. The staff was courteous and prompt with any requests. We dined mid-week, low season and almost had the restaurant to ourselves.
