“Our Geneva Home Away from Home!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Your experience starts with speaking to one of the nicest people you will ever meet!

Theresa, the Inn Keeper calls everyone personally to make sure you are getting the right room and everything that you need to make your stay as comfortable as possible.

The house itself is simply breath taking! Old charm, with clean fresh additions in this historic home.

My husband and I went to Geneva for the Musselman tri and we highly recommend the Statemen room, which has a claw foot tub that adds tons of charm.

We look forward to returning some time soon and can't stop smiling from such a wonderful experience :)

First I have to say that my husband and I usually do not write reviews of places, even if we have a good experience. We found our stay at the William Smith Inn in Geneva, NY to be so great we wanted everyone to know about it. We have never felt more at home in any other establishment, and we have stayed in our fair share of hotels. As soon as we arrived we were greeted by the Inn keeper (Theresa) in an extremely friendly manner. She gave us a tour of the house and helped guide us in the right direction of where to go for dinner and drinks. Theresa was very knowledgeable of the good and not so good establishments in the area. Not to mention it is located in a great spot, not a minute from town. The breakfast that was served in the morning was phenomenal and we again were steered in the right direction as to where to go on our wine tour. We are already trying to plan when we can go back and also can't wait to bring family and friends! We will be recommending everyone who will be in the area to stay here!

On a recent trip to visit Hobart with our son, we had the opportunity to stay at the William Smith Inn. The accommodations were beautiful and the innkeepers delightful. It is clear that they take alot of TLC to ensure the property is perfect and their guests have a delightful stay. We hope our son picks Hobart so we can stay there again!

My husband and I were seeking a romantic getaway weekend. I suggested a Bed and Breakfast and my husband replied with hesitancy, “I’ll go with an open mind.” My immediate thought was everything hinges on selecting THE RIGHT Bed and Breakfast. After reading all the positive reviews of The Williams Smith Inn it comes as no surprise that our FIRST Bed and Breakfast experience was undeniably a pleasant one.

Upon entering the Inn, the tall ceilings and architectural details are spectacular. This enormous historic home is immaculately maintained and decorated with subtle excellence. David and Theresa instantly make you feel at home. Theresa’s irresistible warmth is contagious and you’ll feel like you’ve known her all your life. She shares with excitement restaurant and winery recommendations and she transformed our agenda from ordinary to extraordinary.

We love the fact that David and Theresa support regional produce, eggs and juice in their breakfasts. Our breakfasts included savory quiches, French toast, bacon, sausage and fresh fruit. Everything was delish! David and Theresa’s dog, Seneca, melts your heart with his expressive eyebrows and gentle spirit. As dog owners we enjoyed having his presence at the Inn.

We stayed in the Sturtevant room because of the gas-insert fireplace and claw foot tub. The spacious room was picture perfect and exactly what we desired for our romantic winter getaway.

Overall, we made THE RIGHT CHOICE because our stay at The Williams Smith Inn was one of our most memorable and pleasurable getaway experiences. We fondly look forward to our next visit with gracious Innkeepers, David and Theresa.

Room Tip: Sturtevant Room has a gas-insert fireplace and claw foot tub.

My girlfriend and I had the wonderful opportunity to stay at the William Smith Inn this February as we toured the Finger Lakes. I can't think of a better way to share a snowy evening that in the remodeled Sturtevant Room alongside the fireplace! The reservation process was super simple (all over email), David welcomed us openly when we arrived and if Theresa doesn't become your friend... well, there is probably something wrong with you! David and Theresa have put their heart, soul and family into the William Smith Inn and you can feel it. I can't think of a better environment to be welcomed into and we will be back soon!

Michael and I fell in love at this beautiful historic inn during the month of February; a non traditional tourist time for Geneva NY.

As the snow fell gently from the evening sky, we pulled into the William Smith Inn just as darkness was beginning to set. David spoke to the history of the lovely home, 14 foot ceilings, huge beautiful doors and thresholds; a comfortable welcoming estate (with a Downton Abbey feel!). Watching the snow falling to the ground, bundled up with a crackling fire was the perfect start to our upstate weekend getaway. We awoke to a beautiful blanket of fluffy white snow, a beautiful breakfast of baked french toast with apple, sausage, fresh juice and coffee. Theresa was kind enough to show us the upstairs of the estate. The uniqueness of the layout struck a chord in my heart as each room was filled with its own warmth and charm. Theresa and David were not only lovely hosts and inn keepers -- but very personable and make you feel right at home. To you both, we had a lovely stay at your inn and will absolutely be back to see you soon. Many sincere thanks.
