“One of the best experiences of my life”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed March 28, 2012

Where do I begin?

Overall, the place is beautiful, clean, well-kept, and cozy. It also has a great view of the lake. My wife and I stayed in Di's Suite and were pleasantly surprised at the rustic look of the room. The pictures do not do it justice. Jen and Diane were amazing hostesses, making sure to cater to every need and extremely entertaining and fun to be around.

Now on to the experience:

We were new the Finger Lakes. Our first night there, we didn't get to meet either hostess. The next morning, however, changed the path of our trip that we had intended to be a getaway for just the two of us. At breakfast the next morning, a wonderfully cooked breakfast I should add, we met the 3 other couples. We had signed up for a private tour of the wineries surrounding Lake Seneca, to be given by Jen. At breakfast, after seeing the chemistry we had with 2 of the couples, which to our surprise were in our age range, Jen invited them to join us on the wine tour (with our permission, of course). That led to one of the most entertaining and enjoyable days of our lives.

Jen guided us to 11-12 wineries where we got the VIP treatment because of Jen's connections. I also shouldn't understate how great a guide she was. She had us lauging the whole time, as well as singing in the car, and enjoying the natural beauty of the lake. She took us to some great wineries, and kept us from those that didn't fit our personalities. The quality of this tour would not have been possible without Jen guiding it. I should also quickly mention that because of the chemistry she helped build, we got to experience and celebrate one of the couple's engagement and celebration.

We made some friends who I wouldn't be surprised will become lifetime friends, once again as a result of Jen. Our stay there was absolutely wonderful and I would recommend this be your place to stay if you intend to visit the Finger Lakes. Don't pass up the wine tour either. It will be an unforgettable experience, I guarantee it.

The only drawback is that if you're allergic to cats, they do roam the house. This wasn't a problem for us, though. However, if you have food allergies--no problem, they'll cater specifically to your needs.

Room Tip: Di's Suite. It doesn't have a direct view of the lake but it's a gorgeous and comfortab...

We stayed for two nights and had a great time! The room was very comfortable... the place is cozy... and the food is great!

You will need a good 4-5 days to go through the entire winery... take a boat ride on the lake... and many more!

Diane and Jen are awesome hostesses! I loved that they catered to my food allergies and Jen's breakfasts are amazing! They have such a cute cozy house that makes you feel right at home. We loved our weekend away- food, wine and happiness. What more can we ask for!

Comfort with a smile, this should be the Bragdon House motto. The rooms are large and extremely comfortable, the view from the porch and the second story rooms is a serenade to peaceful existence. The owners are friendly and have all the answers on what to do around. Breakfast was excellent, and the cozy dining room and friendly exchange of ideas and tips with the other guests makes it a pleasant start for another day.
I recommend this place year round.

Room Tip: Go upstairs, let the sun wake you up and watch the town come alive around you.

This B & B has it all- great location, lovely rooms and yummy food! Oh, and the owners could not be more welcoming. We had a super time getting to know them-Jennifer and Diana. Jen gave us great restaurants to try, all were very good. They really know the area and were helpful in planning excursions near and far. As far as the pets go, I have a cat allergy, and was not bothered at all by the owner's two cats. Cookie the dog is a delight and very friendly! I can recommend this place without reservations! You must try it when you're in the Finger Lakes region!

Room Tip: All the rooms are beautifully appointed, you can't go wrong!

My boyfriend booked the VIP weekend as our anniversary trip and boy, oh boy, did he choose right! This was our second visit to the Bragdon House and it felt like we'd never left. Jennifer and Diana accepted us with open arms and warm mugs!

Delicious breakfast every day, fantastic conversation and great people. We stayed in the Phoebe Room overlooking the lake and enjoyed every minute of it. This spacious king bed room is cozily appointed and nicely decorated. We made sure to visit some new wineries and were not disappointed. As much as we'd love to stay forever, we reluctantly left our favorite bed and breakfast. But we will definitely return!

Having been our first stay at a Bed&Breakfast, it is hard to try any others. My husband and I decided to try the Bragdon House on our honeymoon, and it was a decision we will never forget. Jen and Diana are the best. One would think they're sisters, but they are a mother-daughter pair. With our experience, Jen gave us an amazing wine tour and Diana cooked breakfasts that forced me to ask for the recipe. My husband, who hardly eats breakfasts, even came down to eat when breakfast was served.

Above the door, there is a sign that says "Come as strangers, leave as friends" and that is exactly how Jen and Diana make you feel. We had such a great experience, we hope to return for future anniversaries.
