“Belhurst Castle”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013 via mobile

We stayed at the Belhurst for one night and ate lunch in their pub Stonecutters, dinner at Edgars and also had brunch in the morning. We LOVED this beautiful place and found all the staff friendly and helpful. We got a deal through Travelzoo which included a voucher for food. We couldn't have asked for anything more.

“just okay”
2 of 5 stars Reviewed December 30, 2012

we went for Sunday brunch . They need to figure out a better configuration for traffic & the food wasn't nearly as good as it looked ... to bad it's a wonderful spot at the top of Seneca lake .

“Go for the view but DON'T EAT or dink the ROTTEN WINE”
1 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2012

first off we ordered 3 bottle of cabernet and after all three the bartender said its not stored correctly, He said it just sits out in the basement and that there is 500,000 of rotten wine down there. Who is hiring the idiot to flush all this money away and who is paying for these bottles and thinking they are good. Andinspection of the wine- so called cellar would shut them down. Embarassing to call themselves a winery when the wine can change 40 degrees depending on the season. Buyer beware, do not purchase wine here. Or check your bottles first. Well I also was surprised that they dont decant any of there wine. None of it. They have a 300$ bottle of wine on the menu that they would pour into a glss after openong without being decnted. New bar management is a must. Beginners running this basement of a winery. No wonder I found out from the staff that no locals eat or spend money there. Overall I give Belhurst a 0 out of 10. I fought for a refund and the 1 bright spot was the front desk manager Quinn who was the onpy staff member who was compassionate and truly was the only asset to Belhurst. Kelly the manager, oooo, where to begin after only a breif introduction. Kelly, how can you dress like that in a professional environment. You are setting a terrible example for your staff. Funny how both nights we stayed we asked for management about our poor food and in both occasions we were greeted by a waitress who was serving the table next to us and also had nothing good to say about you and that it was highly unusual for management to be there past 9 at night. The other management we tried to speak with was actually bartending in Stonecutters and didnt give me the time of day because she was busy, And she was also dressed in street clothes, I felt fooled by this hotel and restaurant, and was amazed at how many disgrunteled employees there was. Belhurst is in for a rood-awakining when people look past the views and looks at the leadership. A definite pass for any would be first timers, You would have a better time grabbing arbys anf getting a picknic table down by the lake. Same view and will save you 300$

“Stonecutter's”

We had lunch on the patio at Stonecutter's. The food and service were average but the view and the wine was spectacular.

“incredibly beautiful setting”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 10, 2012

We had dinner in the castle with a group of 45. The setting is nothing short of spectacular. Service was excellent and personable. Food was very good--mashed potatoes (imagine that) and coffee were fantastic, rest of the meal not as much, but better than good.
