“Exceeded our expectations”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013 via mobile

We stayed 4 nights before the 4th of July holiday. Based on previous reviews, our expectations were reasonably high. And they were beat. The lodge was a perfect home base for hiking and biking Mohonk & Minnewaska. Our room was very clean, fresh, and comfortable with a stunning view of the Gunks cliffs. They have indoor bike storage and gladly locked & unlocked the door whenever we needed the bikes. We loved to hang out in the beautiful lobby with more great scenery and a nice deck. They served a perfect and healthy breakfast - lots of fruit, granola, yogurt, cereals, carrot bread.... Enough to fuel a full day of outdoor activity esp after topping it off with afternoon fresh baked chocolate chip cookies. The lobby always had coffee, teas. BYOB of your favorite wine for the evening in the lobby or by the fire pit.
The entire staff were friendly, helpful, and took care of any special request, including a refrigerator for our room. Patrick made sure we got the stay 2 nights, get 50% on the third. Very appreciated. We can't wait to return in the autumn.

We stayed at the Lodge for three nights. The room was comfortable, clean and had a balcony that overlooked the well kept grounds and the awesome Shawangunk Ridge. The bed and comforter were scrumptious and relaxing. The continental breakfast was good. Fruit, cookies, coffee and tea abounded all day. The Lodge is in a centralized location with easy access to wineries, Mohonk Preserve, New Paltz and Minnewaska State Park. We would not hesitate recommending the Lodge to our friends and family.

Room Tip: Pick a higher floor room with a balcony facing the Shawangunk Ridge.

Tucked at the base of vertical cliffs is this wonderful lodge. The room was spacious & clean .and the deck offered great views of the cliffside. The bed was very comfortable and the grounds offer plenty of Adirondack chairs to sit and relax . The sitting area just off of the lobby was a great area for breakfast . Wish we stayed longer than just 1 night . Will certainly be back . A+

Room Tip: Rooms with decks facing the cliffs offer great views !!!!

Found this gem online, this was the perfect stay for us traveling to our friends wedding.
There was four of us and we had been traveling since 7 am from florida, we made it to the lodge and we had the friendliest most wonderful front desk employee I have ever had, her name was Crystal and she really was the best. Crystal helped us with places to go in town, the room ect. The lodge is great, truely at the base of the mountains, we enjoyed the grounds wondering around watching the fireflys. We had a forest view room with a deck, clean room, fresh air and a great view. I would highly recommend staying here, if we ever travel back to upstate Ny this is the place we are going!

We absolutely loved our stay at this lodge.
sitting on our deck at night watching the fire pits and lightning bugs was very relaxing.
The king size bed was without a doubt the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in!!!
The room was very comfortable, super clean and tastefully decorated.
The common areas of the lodge were really nice and people actually hanging out in these areas or sitting on the porch absorbing great views of the cliffs.
The complementary breakfast was extensive with fruit, cereals, muffins, coffee cakes etc. A high point was some of the best coffee ever.
The entire staff was very friendly an helpful.
Price for our stay was very reasonable, we would definitely surely recommend and we look forward to visiting here again.

Room Tip: Try for second floor, cliff side, end room.

Loved this place - not to say that it's a five-star hotel but it's exactly what we wanted as we passed through the area. I have no complaints, and while I normally downgrade hotels that don't offer non-dairy milk, I'll let it slide. Very friendly and attentive staff, beautiful breakfast, stunning setting and backyard (bring a frisbee!) and wonderful lobby area for lounging about. Spacious and comfortable rooms and great natural bath products. And a short and pleasant drive away from the charming town of New Paltz. This place will keep a special place in my travel memories! P.S. Try to get a room facing the back so you have the cliff backdrop and a nice patio.

The staff went above and beyond, the location beautiful and the common room and deck fabulous. Breakfast and snacks way better than typical. Would have preferred a larger bed and a little better soundproofing between floors though. Would definitely return any time in the area.
