“Good, Clean Hotel, Great Staff”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed April 29, 2013

We stayed in the Hampton Inn Garden City this past weekend. Good room for the price, and we had a great experience with the front desk. Tiffany, who checked us in, recommended a terrific local restaurant (Vincent's Clam Bar). The hotel has an arrangement with the restaurant, so guests are seated quickly and receive a free appetizer and dessert. Everyone was friendly the lobby and breakfast area were nice. Would definitely stay here again.

Thank you so much for completing the Trip Advisor survey. I'm delighted to hear that Tiffany was able to recommend Vincent's to you. It is a great place to bring the family. Our hotel has a great relationship with Vincent's. All our guests get VIP service as they don't have to wait and will get a free appetizer and dessert. With Vincent's portion size our refrigerators and microwaves in each guest room come in handy.
Thanks again

For the price it was okay. If I stay here again I will bring my own hairdryer. Breakfast is included in the price and there are several food options and shopping nearby. Ease of access to the highways.

Thank you so much for takling the time to complete our hotel's Trip Advisor survey. I'm delighted you enjoyed your stay with us. When you reserve several rooms that are on a block, make sure you ask if they are going to be together or at least on the same floor. I reserved 3 rooms at the same time, but we were all over the place and not even on the same floor.

Thank you for completing the Trip Advisor survey. Please accept my apologies for the 3 rooms not being close to each other. Keeping group rooms close to each other can sometimes be a challenge for hotels as many guests have special requests (ie. high floor, close to elevator, quiet room, etc). Not to mention those guests that arrive early and we try to accommodate as soon as possible.
Thanks again for completing the survey

The manager of this hotel says there are two North Avenues in what he calls "the Garden City area." The truth of the matter is that there is ONE North Avenue that is actually in the Village of Garden City. This hotel is NOT in the Village of Garden City. It is within the 11530 ZIP code, but that's it. It is OUTSIDE the village boundaries. .

Thanks for your inquiry with Trip Advisior. It is true there is one North Ave in the Village of Garden City and we are sometimes considered East Garden City. The Town of Hempstead does have our hotel listed as Garden City, NY and we are unable to make a change on this. Certinaly the 2 North Aves in Garden City (Village and East) are one of our biggest challenges and we still continue to work with the Town on this issue

The hotel is new, rooms and linens are nice. Breakfast is fine. Very convenient to highways. When we checked in (after a very long drive) we were told there was a problem with our reservation. However, Celia at the from desk took care of it quickly, efficiently and in a friendly manner. We could not have been happier. Will certainly stay here again when we are visiting family on Long Island"

Thank you so much for the great comments about your last stay with us. I'm delighted to hear that Celia was able to take care of your reservation at check-in. The last thing you need after a long drive is a problem at check-in. I'm glad you will consider our hotel the next time you are in Long Island

The hotel is OK. Roms are fine allthough i dont like showering in tub.
Breakfast is very basic and not a lot of options which at a price of $170 should be included.
The AC (Heater) very noisy makes it difficult to sleep.

Room Tip: Choose another hotel.

Please accept my apologies for the noisy AC/Heat unit. We usually don't have any issues with our units. It is possible that maybe the unit cover was not on properly as we quarterly maintenance on all our units. I was also confused with your comment for breakfast. Breakfast at all Hamptons is complimentary. Did you pay for breakfast? We also have 12 options in our complimentary breakfast.
Again, I apologize the noisy unit but would love to know more about whether you paid for our breakfast

NEVER , EVER Accept room 142 next to the breakfast room and common area. It was noisy ! Terrible ! Kids running around at 11:00 pm , TV blaring . Saw a dad dragging a kid by his leg down the hallway through the peephole. My nattress was so worn it almost sagged to the floor. If you're a business traveler - steer clear.

Please accept my apologies for the noise areound room 142. With this room being so close to the lobby area the noise should have been monitored by our Front Desk personnel. As for parents grabbing their children, unfortunately we have no control over that but we can say something if and when we see something. I certainly plan on sharing your comments with my team as well. We don't usually get complaints from our ground floor rooms and our hotel does run at 90% occupancy.
Thank you for the feedback and I will pass this on to my team
