“Don't Let the "Dive"Atmosphere Fool You!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 29, 2013

Old, dingy, dark, floods during storms....that is the atmosphere of Jeremy's - get past that, and you are going to enjoy large beers on tap, the best fried seafood in town, and terrific staff who always make you feel welcome. Plentiful portions as well for a very reasonable price.

“special kind of place”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 25, 2013

dont go here unless you are expecting an unpretentious experience. kinda grimy, but awesome for groups, and even kids (nobody cares). management almost always on staff and on-point. lately calamari legs have been overcooked, hopefully this is just a phase.

“Fun and funky, high tide brings flooding, good food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 26, 2012

This is a fun and funky kind of place with reasonably priced food. Where else can you get a lobster roll for $8? Granted, it wasn't the "best damn lobster roll" I'd ever eaten, but it was pretty good (they mince the lobster meat and make sort of a spread/salad with it, but they stuff the roll pretty thickly).

The housemade chips are great and served in a generously-sized styrofoam container. I've had most of the items on the menu over time, and most everything is at least good. Dinner can get a little pricey - many years ago, they had a sign out front that said "everything on menu under $10 (which wasn't even true back then, but then, I quibble), but if you get appetizers, raw clams, steamers, and then dinner and drinks, it can amount to quite a lot.

The flood on the floor was, well, an interesting event. The guy mopping the water back said what everyone here says he says, which is, oh, not to worry, this happens at every high tide. The bathrooms, which are tiny-tiny-tiny, can also get flooded, so be careful when you drop your pants!

The restaurant is a hybrid service/self-service - you check the menu, walk up and give your order at the bar, and then someone brings your order to you. When I first started going there, customers bussed their own tables, but I noticed more recently that most customers didn't bother.
