Ft Plain, NY is a small town on the Erie Canal/Mohawk River. The town suffered serious damage in some neighborhoods due to flooding in 2013, including the street 'A White Rose B&B' is on. Some area houses are still empty due to that damage, but the B&B escaped intact.
The house dates from the late 1800's and has the charm of that era. The owner, Melissa Brown, said the house has been in her family since the 1920's and her collection of antique books, furniture, photos and decorations are evidence of that. It is the owner's residence.
This is a small operation, with two bedrooms that share a bath and one room, which was our choice, with ensuite bath. It was very comfortable, nicely furnished and equipped and very clean. Breakfast was simple; fruit, eggs, pancakes, yogurt, etc. Plenty to set you up for the day.
We enjoyed our stay and would certainly stop here again
