“Great Value. Very Clean”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 13, 2008

Stayed at the Landmark in Sept. of 2008. First stayed there in 2003 and every time I have stayed I liked it. Very clean, updated. Like the motor inn/motels used to be. Friendly staff, very reasonably priced. Great indoor pool and jacuzzi. Would recommend for anyone to stay at.

2 of 5 stars Reviewed July 24, 2008

My 12 year old Mentee and I wanted to stay at a hotel that was close enough to Saratoga Performing Arts Center but far enough away so that we wouldn't have to deal with party people.

This hotel was basic on the inside. It would of used another cleaning. The bathroom floor was quite sticky. The beds were uncomfortable. The good news is that the lobby is beautiful. They have free coffee and donuts for everyone. The pool and hot tub are kept clean and there is a great restaurant across the street that you can walk to. As far as we could tell, this was the best looking hotel on the street. The service was friendly.

  • Liked — Location and the lobby
  • Disliked — The uncomfortable beds

2 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2008

We were travelling to Canada, and this portion of our trip required that we take route 197 and connect with route 4. This motel was the closest to Route 197, and, from the exterior ( and the photos on site) , looked good. The lobby was attractive and bright, and the billboard outside advertized a variety of services. Check in went smoothly, and we proceeded to our room. The room was less than clean, very dark, even with the curtains opened, and there was a problem with the heat - the thermostat didn't work properly, and we suffered through a very warm night!!!
We discovered in the morning that there was no complimentary breakfast. The manager had neglected to change the sign!
There was free wireless internet, however, as advertized.
Cost: $55 per night
One bright spot... we went to the Peppermill Family Retaurant for dinner - about 5 miles from the motel on route 9. The early bird special was wonderful: 9.99 for soup, rolls, entree, and coffee/tea. It was a delightfully friendly place!!

We would not stay at the motel again, and we would recommend and visit the Peppermill Family Restaurant!!

  • Liked — It was a convenient location to connect with planned routes on our trip.
  • Disliked — It fell short of the advertized services and online descriptions
