My husband and I just spent two nights at the Inn. The main house is lovely. The common areas are beautiful, providing comfy couches and chairs to relax in. The breakfast is delicious. You can select from a menu including eggs, waffles, french toast, etc. You can also serve yourself muffins, cereal, toast, and a yummy assortment of jams. The kitchen is fully stocked with lunch and snacks throughout the day so you help youself whenever you like. Our room was Cupola in the Carriage House. It's on the second floor and has a large deck with lounge chairs. Nice! We lucked out with the weather. It was crisp but sunny. The lake is gorgeous. We took a rowboat out, hiked on the trails, road bikes, and lazed in the hammocks. If it were rainy I'm not sure what we would have done. The Inn is really in the country - there's not much else around to do from what I could see. Deer are everywhere so driving around at dusk was an adventure. We ate at Hennings Local one evening. It was incredible - definitely try it! We also took a drive up Rte 97 and were blown away by the views of the Delaware River. Really, really lovely. The Inn was the perfect place to get away from it all and relax. We'd like to return in the summer months to enjoy the beautiful pool.

- Official Description (provided by the hotel):
- The Inn, with working fireplaces, whirlpool baths and private sundecks, is located high in the Catskill Mountains on a 250-acre private lake. Like resort lodging, the Inn provides a variety of summer and winter recreational facilities, including access to a health and fitness spa. But unlike larger hotels, the Inn, with just 17 guestrooms, is a luxurious, yet informal, casual country retreat that assures guests a relaxing, private, rustic mountain lake environment. Very much like the Berkshires, White Mountains, Adirondacks and Poconos, the Catskills surrounding the Inn offer spectacular scenes of lakes and rivers, as well as hiking trails with views of majestic peaks and isolated waterfalls. However, unlike these other regions, the Inn is no more than 2 hours from New York City. ... more less
