“Enjoying the beach”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 29, 2013

When my famlly come up from NC, we head for Robert Moses beach, Field 5. The boardwalk is repaired from Hurrican Sandy, and the sand has been replenished. Clean, sparkling water, and the waves came crashing in whilst there. We saw quite a few deer along the roadside, even a fawn. I always love coming to this beach. Can't beat the view. The lighthouse is a short walk away, howevr, the boardwalk there hasn't been repaired yet. A nice walk along the beach, and there you are. Lots of history inside the building.
BTW, if you go to the park after 4pm, no charge for parking, and not too much of a crowd.

“The Last Great Beach Deal in Suffolk County”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 15, 2013

Ok Note to TripAdvisor and readers-a majority of the reviews for Robert Moses park in MASSENA, NY which is upstate NY, are for THIS Robert Moses. SO Tripadvisor might want to clear up this confusion. Being from Long Island, this has been my beach my entire life. It is still $10 to get in, considering it's the same county and Ocean as much more expensive beaches in the Hamptons. It's Long Island in all of its natural geologic beauty, although Hurricane Sandy destroyed some of the Dunes-but the restoration efforts have been whole-hearted and effective. I am a long time visitor to Long Island's East End (Amagansett, Montauk) but in recent years the crowds from the city (and wherever else, sigh) and all the build up has made the place intolerable on summer weekends-not to mention the traffic getting there and back...I save my time and money, and go to Robert Moses, beautiful Ocean beach in suffolk county!

“Great Park and Beach”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

This is one beautiful park.. The beach water is much cleaner than Jones Beach for it is further from New York. And it is the beginning of Fire Island, which is a world to it's own. It is well worth the extra 20 minute ride to get to this park. You will not be disappointed.

“GREAT FAMILY TIME!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed July 8, 2013

Had a great time at Robert Moses State Park. There is an area for restrooms, showers, and a complete cafeteria with average prices. It is worth the trip.

“Spectacular beach !!!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed June 20, 2013

How lucky to live within a short distance of this magnificent stretch of beach! I have been enjoying this wonderful barrier island for the last thirty years and every year I realize how lucky I am to have this on an everyday basis. In summer we go early (around 8am) and leave in early afternoon when the crowds increase. You can shower and change your clothes if you wish and the bathroom facilities are good. In the Spring and Fall we spend nice leisurely days here strolling the magnificent shoreline and enjoying nature as it should be. Worth a visit for visitors to our beautiful Island. One of the most beautiful beaches in the world.....
