“The Bakehouse... Great place for Sunday brunch”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed January 24, 2013

Recommended by my daughter, went for a family brunch (6 persons)...
Very relaxed and casual ambience, even though busy when we were there...
Superb and attentive service...
Mid-price for the area...

Very nice quiche
Two filling omelette
Half salad, half sandwich (apple walnut salad, hot ham sammy)
Steaming hot capuccinos and lattes too

Will make it a periodic regular...
The restaurant looks interesting too, though on the pricey side

P.S. Used to be downtown Syracuse... Like the suburban location better, especially families
Easy parking on the street or the lot behind is free

“Pricey, but good.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed January 21, 2013

Whenever we go there, I gasp at the prices. I would say, though, that the food is nearly worth it. I say nearly, because sometimes it isn't well seasoned, or poorly balanced. The friends we go there with love the fish, but the chicken dishes aren't always perfect and the vegetarian dish can be bland. Desserts are always excellent and the service is first-rate.

“Quick Nothing fancy but the food.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed December 16, 2012

I enjoy the sugary sweets here as well as a light lunch. Prices are very affordable and it is a pleasent casual atmosphere. Also a Quick in and out if you are in a hurry.

“A Great Place disappoints”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 19, 2012

This is one of the greatest places we ever go to eat. The ambiance is terrific. The food is inventive and delicious. The wine is very good and the desserts are superb. But sometimes they miss the boat. We had a delicious Pork Heritage Steak with fingerling potatoes and cabbage in an ale and caramel reduction. It was top notch. But my wife order the Gnocchi with zucchini and summer squash. What she got was a huge plate of gnocchi with little slices of zucchini and summer squash and white onion. There was no color and the sauce turned out to be virtually tasteless. The manager never checked on us even after we complained to our waitress although he stopped twice to visit with friends at the next table. Even after that the coffee was find and the apple tart was outstanding. We'll go back, but hope they learn to put some vegetables and some flavor into what should be a great dish.

“Excellent service and food in the Bistro”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed October 4, 2012

Arrived 30 minutes before the kitchen opened. No problem - served us with open arms - drinks and their excellent bread (from their Bakery 200 yards down the side street). We sat in the Bistro, which seemed to have more atmosphere. Another big plus in the Bistro - all appetizers are half price 5-7 pm M-Th. They took our order at 4:50 pm just before opening. 2 appetizers make a good meal. I had Moroccan meat balls and fish appetizer, my wife had the salmon main course + chinese sticker appetizer. All were very good to excellent. Their deserts were outstanding, also from the Bakery down the street - particularly notable was the olive oil cake. We finished the meal with cappuccino.

Let me emphasize - the service was perfect, contrary to the earlier review.
The bakery was closed by the time we finished dinner, but will be back to check it out.

Last time we ate at Pascale, they were downtown in not a particulary good neighborhood. The new neighborhood is much more pleasant.
