very tough but enjoyable course--especially in the days after the pro tour has been through. be prepared to camp out early for a spot, but it will be well worth the wait.

“Be ready to walk and be ready to be challenged”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 22, 2012

There is only one Bethpage Black and it's on LI!! Home of the US Open twice and the Barclay's in 2012, there is no other true Public Course like the Bethpage Black. The other courses at Bethpage are all in wonderful shape and are also beautifully designed.

“Best course in NY!”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

What can I say that already hasn't been said about this course. It is not only one of the best bargains, it is one of the best walks around. Every hole is memorable.

“Tough, but a real experience”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 11, 2012

I have played this course a numbe of times, but completed my scorecard only about half the time. It is long, hilly and difficult. You need to hit the ball straight and at least 200 yards from the tee. Don't expect to score well, but if you are a good golfer (90 handicap or below) you can survive as long as you keep moving along. Bethpage is probably the best northeast type of golf course(s) tree lined and with difficult rough and fast greens. Suggest that you try the other other four courses in the park before attempting the black. The Green is similar, but much shorter. The Red is a good course and challenging. The Blue is longer than the Red but the fairways are wider. The Yellow is the easiest of the five but also a decent course and allows you to play nine holes if you wish. If you like golf, you will love Bethpage Park.

“Best Golf Course on LI”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 15, 2012

Starting to get over priced. Used to be favorite course to play, now busy since the OPEN's been played there amongst other Major Tourneys. Best Public Course available- wish they didnt raise prices so much I'd play more often. Been playing Black since I'm 12 (now 42)
