“Very friendly owner, great place and delish breakfast”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed December 18, 2011

The new owners were very friendly and enthusiastic, but not intrusive and the room comfortable, spacious and within easy walking distance of the village. One of the best parts, a wonderful gourmet breakfast the next morning. We will definitely be back!

Room Tip: We stayed in the Monroe room, spacious and nice.

The Ilex Inn is one of the finest bed & breakfasts I have ever stayed in, it definately suprassed my expectations. It all starts with Rick and Glenda.. Rick and Glenda are really wonderful people and are incredible hosts, who make you immediately feel like you are long lost friends.. The Ilex Inn is a beautiful, relaxing place to stay. This luxurious house is well cared for as well as being welcoming and cozy. The living room has a large fireplace which alluded to a warm and comfortable atmosphere, where it makes socializing easy. All of the rooms are immaculate and the bed was VERY comfortable. Our breakfast was nothing short of spectacular (Thanks Rick).

We had a great time we had with you while we were in Ellicottville, not to mention that you were a fantastic guide. The scenery was beautiful and we loved the place where we went "tobogging" . It's always great to see both of you and staying there made the fun last that much longer. Thank you for being such gracious hosts and treating us so royally. . I'm not sure when we'll visit again, but I hope it won't be too long. We had a great stay and we'll definitely recommend it and will be back again. --We're still talking about what fun we had..

It's always great to see both of you and staying there made the fun last that much longer.

Thank you for being such gracious hosts and treating us so royally. We enjoyed everything!!!

I have stayed at this fabulous Bed and Breakfast multiple times and plan on coming back whenever I have the time to visit. Its the cheapest place in town compared to every other Bed and Breakfast as well as the local hotel down the street. Included in the overall price is the amazing hott tub with jets that will blow you away! Perfect place to relax after hiking the hundreds of acres of land located in the backyard of the Ilex. You can also enjoy the heated pool which is never crowded. The hosts Rick and Glenda will make you feel right at home and treat you like family. In the winter time I love to sit in front of my fire place, watch the snow fall and look foward to the awesome skiing the next day shall provide. Two ski resorts are located right down the street no more than 5 minutes away. Great location down the street from multiple restraunts and night life enjoyment. Its always exciting to find out whats for breakfast the next morning while Rick and Glenda wake up extra early just to prepare our meals. I wouldnt even think about staying elsewhere and its recommended to make a reservation because guests love coming here! Totally recomended!!!

We wanted to stay here because of it's location to the main strip and because we love the charm of a B&B. Rick and Glenda were very nice and breakfast was delicious.

I do want to share the same sentiment as another reviewer. Our bed was probably the most uncomfortable bed i've ever slept on. We were up tossing all night. The rooms can use a bit of updating too. It was a pleasant stay but i'd probably stay at a hotel next time for $145.

The Ilex Inn felt like home away from home for a weekend getaway from PA to NY. RIck and Glenda treated us like family and their breakfast was delicious! The rooms (both private and common areas) provide a comfortable, warm, relaxing and welcoming feel. The fire places and hot tub are an additional bonus. The plans that Rick and Glenda have for the future of the Ilex Inn (both indoors and outside) sound wonderful. We can not wait to book our next weekend getaway at the Inn. A definite 5 star, "must visit" place in Ellicottville!

Coming from a mountain home in Wyoming to the Ilex Inn Bed and Breakfast in Ellicottville, NY was a fantastic weekend retreat. For a mix of business and to attend a wedding the Ilex is the perfect location. Just on the edge of the village of Ellicottville in walking distance to stores, restaurants, gift shops and night life the days were filled with activities and the evenings quiet and relaxing. The Ilex Inn B&B is a classic Victorian home with a large wrap around porch that invites you to sit and visit with other guests during the Spring, Summer and Fall. During the Winter months there are two parlor areas, one on the upper level where coffee and pastries are served to the guests just outside your room. You can chat with other guests or return to your private room all with a fire place, private bath, TV and several other comforting amenities. The other area is downstairs where you can gather in a comfortable living room setting. The dining room has just been remodeled and is where you will be served breakfast among charming furniture from the old days. Your hosts, Rick and Glenda, although you may have just met, you may be inclined to think you have known them for years and more than likely will become friends for years to come. Other amenities include a Hot Tub (brand new), a swimming pool, a small private cottage with kitchenette and access to 200 wooded acres for a leisurely hike. I will return to the Ilex Inn B&B and hopefully will have more time to spend on the next trip.

Room Tip: The Van Buren Room or Cottage have private access
