“Good food slow indifferent service.”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 30, 2014

We visited this place twice during our recent stay, in Ellicotville.
The first evening we sat outside on the patio.
Waited a good ten minutes after hostess placed us at a table, for a server to come.
We ordered drinks....waited another 10 minutes.
We ordered food...waited another ten minutes.
Finally food and appetizers arrived....at the same time...

Skipped dessert and coffee.......

Tried again two nights later...this time seated in the newly renovated bar area...
Seated in a nice spot, however, it was quite evident within a few mnutes, we were directly under an air conditioner vent, that made the proverbial 'arctic blast from Canada' feel like a heatwave....
Impossible to stay, asked to be moved to the 'bar' area as this was all that was vacant ,
our server agreed reluctantly it seemed and then rewarded us with indifference of service...

He disappeared completely, only appearing with our food order...and never once inquiring as to our satisfaction, or our needs, during the whole time we were there..

I believe they have their names on the backs' of their jersey's , but when inquiring as to where he was, no one knew..

We politely asked for our bill and left...

“Typical Bar Food”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014 via mobile

Went on a rainy night in June, and unfortunately the outside patio was closed and we were seated in the bar area.

The menu consists of typical bar food, portions were ample and well prepared. Quality was good, not outstanding. Not sure if the pulled pork and slaw was freshly made, or picked up at Costco.

Tried two of there brewed on-site beers. I am not a beer expert, but I have had better craft brewed beers. If I hadn't seen the taps, I would have assumed they were bottled.

“5-star beers, 4+ for the food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 27, 2014

This is by far and away one of the nicest brew pubs I've been to. This is the second time we've stopped here in the summer. The village is quiet, since its off-season. The beers here are creative, interesting and range from quirky and weird to fabulous. The chocolate cherry bomb stout is worth drive along. Also the "People Don't Like Putin Porter" is outstanding. The Hot Chocolate was okay, but the ghost pepper in the background detracted a little. The food was almost 5 stars. The Truffle Parmesan fries were a winner. The grilled watermelon, crab and avocado salad was sublime. I ordered the blueberry sausage salad for lunch and came back in the evening for some Thai Chili Mussels. Both were very good. Laura is an outstanding server. The kitchen is a little slow, even in off peak times, but that's my only rap on the restaurant side.

“Delicious”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed June 18, 2014

We were 10 hungry ladies out for dinner on a Thursday night. It wasn't a weekend so it wasn't too busy so we had our servers full attention. She was GREAT.Half of the group ordered samples of
different beers and the other half had wine made in Elliottville. Both choices were out standing.I
couldn't stop savouring over my choice of meal.I had a dinner salad, grilled romaine lettece with
grape tomatoes, bacon bits, blue cheese and a garlic lemon dressing.I also added chicken to the
meal. The restaurant had a great atmosphere and a clean and funky washroom. We would definitely go back there again.

“Beer beer and more beer”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed June 10, 2014

The beer is good. Food is good. Bartender was cranky. Big guy with a ponytail. Why does it seem that the entire trip to New York we were met with food service workers who were not interested in out of towners? He ruined our time here as we did not feel like sitting at bar. Wait staff and greeter were better. Will be glad to get back to friendly PA. People!
