I can't say enough about this place! Spotlessly clean, bed (Medallion Room) felt like a cloud, gorgeous decor, safe (I was traveling alone), super-friendly (but not pushy) owners, and the food...omg...warm, homemade apple pie on arrival, and in the morning, the most fabulous breakfast (quiche with asparagus & hollandaise sauce) ever. Worth driving to; don't miss this one!! Book early...

This was our third and longest stay at the Marienthal Country Inn. We were there for five nights and were once again impressed with Louise's five star cooking and Vinny's friendliness. Each morning the breakfast was tailored to our tastes and just delicious. Louise uses local products when possible and the chicken sausage was my favorite. We also loved all the of pastries that she baked and left out for us to eat any time during the day, along with beverages, and a bowl of fruit. We have seen the progress they have made in the hall renovation and they are ready for their first wedding. You know that this is a labor of love and both Louise and Vinny are gifted hosts. We will be back!

Marienthal Inn – The PERFECT solution for a special 50th Birthday Celebration

For my husband’s 50th Birthday, I had in mind a long list of unique requirements, and found them at Marienthal, in Eden NY, after looking at dozens of options. The event we had for 20 people absolutely met my expectations, and wowed guests as well as the Birthday boy. Louise and Vince were terrific and clearly invest themselves in this repurposed property. Their accommodations and hospitality stand apart from the competition in many ways. This Inn property is unique, and can be categorized as a Specialty Event Rental. If your family or group plans a special gathering, including overnight stays, check Marienthal out.

Marienthal is a personal, crafted, small business in scenic rural southern-tier Western NY. It has historic significance with a re-use, re-cycle mentality in bringing a former church property to new vibrancy as a spot for get-aways, reunions, or group events. It combines the flexibility of several buildings in a single compound, creative energetic proprietors, and a next generation iteration of itself that is emerging with every new group that briefly calls it home.

Here is a bit of my distinctive vision, and the delivery provided at Marienthal…

A party experience that was memorable, surprising and novel for all involved. 5 stars.

Relaxed intimacy and “free rein” feeling of being at home, along with the open spaces and service level of being at a commercial hospitality establishment. 5 stars. Totally unique, casual ambiance, with renovated, well appointed rooms. The place is fun. The place is cool.

The opportunity for indoor as well as outdoor venues for enjoyment even in mid winter. 4.5 stars. Whether the cozy Brick House lounge, the vast church hall (now a venue for ping pong!), the outdoor fire pit, the hot tub, or the beautiful wood-traversing trails, the venues were plenty.

A lovely, somewhat upscale dinner party, tailored to specific tastes and my direction; a dining experience suitable to a professional chef. 4.5 stars. Louise worked with Mike of the Food Tailor Catering. All made fresh on site. All top notch.

The chance for my guests to dine and party together, and to stay overnight, and enjoy individual get-aways of their own. 4.5 stars. By reserving the entire Artisan Inn, the whole Brick House, and the Church Hall for Sat - Sun, we were able to gather, and still wander apart.

The terrific B & B experience we always prefer when we travel, a personal proprietor, and not a stamped out series of bland corporate hotel rooms. 5 stars. Bland is the LAST word you would use to describe the eclectic and artistic transformation of these former church buildings. Breakfast was just terrific. Louise is an artist, from Bathroom fixtures to fresh Bread; she presents it all with equal skill.

A good value proposition, close to home (Buffalo area) for my guests, which supports local small business and leaves my money right here in the local economy. 4.5 stars.

Thanks to Louise and Vince. We will be back.

Stumbled upon this wonderful bed and breakfast while searching the internet. It had all positive reviews so I contacted the owner Louise. It was quite a long drive from the I-90 coming from the west but easily located from route 219. The hostess was warm and welcoming, the room beautifully appointed and the bed super comfortable! Coffee, tea, and bottled water were always available as well as some delicious sweets to enjoy in the evening. Breakfast may have been the best at a bed and breakfast that I have ever had. Truly a culinary delight. All in all a great experience. There was only one down fall to note. The B & B is on a corner across from a country gin mill (Uncle Franks) that had really good bar food and attracted a lot of snowmobiles. These folks are out LATE when the weather is right and the snow deep. Was a bit noisy for sleeping soundly but this was no fault of the owners. I would definitely go back.

Room Tip: We had the Park view room which has an enclosed front porch for sitting, chatting, and drinking wine...

We stayed at the Marienthal Country Inn for 7 nights this past week. I've stayed in a lot of bed and breakfasts and this is probably my favorite. Louise and Vinnie have a real talent for the B&B business. They are warm, friendly, helpful and funny. There is nothing they won't do to make their guests happy. Louise has a great artistic touch and our room, and all those we looked at, are not only well decorated but fun and playful with lots of special touches. The breakfasts were both generous and delicious with dishes ranging from classic eggs benedict and blueberry pancakes to eggs baked in puff pastry with goat cheese and herbs. Every afternoon when we got back to the room there was a new, freshly baked treat - brownies, coffee cake, a small pie - Louise is a great baker as well as a great cook. The grounds are beautiful with hiking trails starting right on the property and a lot of beautiful scenery. You can tell, we loved this place and the folks that run it.

We stayed at the Marienthal B&B for one night this past weekend. We wished we could have stayed longer. When we arrived, we were greeted by Vince, who showed us the grounds, including the breakfast area in the back of an old church, and our room, which was on the second floor of a house that had a communal living room, kitchen (complete with homebaked goods that were DELICIOUS) and dining room on the main floor. Our room, the Creekside suite, was furnished with a queen bed, electric fireplace, and large bathroom with a dual showerhead. Our stay was very quiet and comfortable. The breakfast in the morning was incredible.

The grounds are picturesque. Behind the breakfast room are tables and chairs that would be great for an after dinner drink during the spring and summer months. Since we went on a rainy weekend, we couldn't take advantage of this area, but in the morning it was warm so we took a walk around the cemetery close to the property. At the top, you get amazing views of the trees down below.

On our way home, we had already discussed how soon we could come back. Louise and Vince made us feel like family. You can tell that they have a passion for welcoming people to their Inn and making people feel at home. Highly, highly recommended.

My husband and I stayed at the Marienthal Country Inn for an overnight visit in the area. We stayed in the Sunset Suite with a living/ kitchen area, beautiful bath, and separate bedroom with a king size bed. The grounds are lovely, the suite was beautiful, the bed very comfortable and the breakfast delicious! Louise is a wonderful baker! Will definitely return!

Room Tip: The sunset suite is great! King size bed and very private.
