“Pleasant, comfortable stay”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed July 19, 2012

I was looking for an easy and comfortable one-night stay to attend my niece's graduation party, and Double Tree fit the bill just fine. The room was clean, the beds and bedding very comfortable. I also liked the convenience of having a restaurant and bar on premise. Although I did not actually dine at the restaurant, the room service they provided was exceptionally polite and accommodating and the food was good. I was with my elderly mother so decided to order room service for breakfast and everything came up to our room perfectly as ordered and still hot (surprise, surprise!). Although the front desk staff was not overly friendly, they were most certainly not rude in any way. The warmed chocolate chip cookie they offered on arrival really hit the spot and was delicious! Also, when I booked my room online I asked if they could possibly provide a refrigerator (although they don't normally) and was pleased to find one in my room when I arrived. I would be happy to stay here on any future visit to the Syracuse area. Thank you for a pleasant and comfortable stay!

We stayed here one night on our way through New York. It was a very clean, nicely decorated hotel. We had the breakfast buffet and it was tasty. Many options including made to order omlettes. The sever and manager of the restaurant were so very nice.We would definately stay here again.

We stayed at Double Tree Syracuse because we enjoyed our last Double Tree experience at Double Tree Time Square. We asked for an upgrade but were told none were available. The hotel was busy when we stayed there, so we were ok with the room they gave us. We were on the first floor, and it actually worked out great. We could walk out from our room, through the patio doors, right to the pools, spa, and fitness area. Rooms weren't that sound proof. We had people on both sides and we could here them talking and closing doors. Hallways were noisy, but turning the A/C fan on helped cut the noise down. Bathrooms were basic, could use some upgrades. Breakfast buffet was good and the service was great. Might try something else next time, because of the lack of room sound proofing.

We stayed at this Double Tree because we couldn't get into the Embassy Suites. The hotel itself was fine. My room was small and I was very disappointed that it didn't have a refrigerator (especially because there is no free breakfast the next morning). The pools were very nice and the bar was also a great place to unwind. The front desk staff were extremely helpful getting us to a super wegmans (our favorite store). All in all our stay was ok, just not over the top. Things that would improve our stay would have been: An in room refrigerator, at least a continental breakfast if not more - not too much to ask for to get our business over Embassy suites.

Spent one night at the Doubletree (July 7, 2012) and was very satisified with the cleanliness, the outdoor and indoor pools. The beds were very comfortable with 4 pillows per bed. The breakfast buffet which was included in the Bed and Breakfat package was excellent. Waffles and omlettes were made to order. Fresh fruits, hot and cold cereals, muffins, cupcakes, sausages, bacon, eggs, home fries, French toast, potato pancakes and more. The front desk staff was very helpful and has directions prepared to the Carousel Mall plus a variety of restaurants. Wolfgang Puck coffee was available in the room as well as a large closest with iron and ironing board. We were informed that wi-fi is now free at this hotel (manager's decision).

Room Tip: If you plan on using the outdoor pool, reserve a pool room with sliding class doors leading diretcly...

The service at this hotel is excellent. They respond immediately (within 24 hours) to email inquiries. I was able to have some items shipped to the hotel and they held the packages for me (no fee charged for this service). As well, since the packages were not all small, they offered to bring it to my room. I received their gourmet cookie upon arrival which was very good. Sort of like Mrs. Fields cookies except with walnuts in them. They provided me with a no smoking room with King size bed as requested. It was on the ground level and although at first I was a bit nervous since it is easier access for possible thiefs, since the patio opened onto the pool area it was a highly exposed area. It also was not noisy even though it faced onto the outdoor pool area. One benefit of being on the ground level was not having to wait for the elevator!

Although we did not use the pool area very much it did not appear to be crazy busy. We did not hear the noise from the pool area so that was nice. The pools were nice in that they were not deep - I think 5 feet is the maximum depth level?

We had gotten take out food to bring back to the hotel and the restaurant had not packed any utensils. When I went to the restaurant to ask for forks, the server there was very accommodating and provided forks off the tables at the restaurant. He was fine with us leaving behind the forks in our rooms when we left the next day.

The room was nice enough. It did have a slight musty odour though when we first walked in but it was not a big deal since it's not something one notices after being in the room for a bit. The room also felt a bit on the humid side. Not sure if this was due to the hot weather outside. It was nice that there was a side door near our room so that we could access our car easily.

Local calls cost about $2/ call for connection charge. It would also have been nice if there was a mini fridge and microwave in the room. I think likely you could rent one since I saw a couple sitting out in the hallway when the maids were cleaning out the rooms. Not sure of the cost though.

Free wireless internet - likely because I am a Hilton Honours member. No free breakfast. There is a Business Centre that you can access the internet and print out things if necessary without a fee which is very convenient.

Location wise, don't think anything really in within walking distance but by car there are many things close by such as restaurants and shopping.

All in all a good stay. I would stay there again.

When in Syracuse, I usually stay at one of the Hampton Inns. But, the price was right at the Doubletree and we used the Hilton MVP code. The second time we stayed, we did points and money reward because we are Gold Hilton HHonors members.

The hotel is very easy to find and close enough to I-90, but not that close that you can hear traffic. There is plenty of parking, but this is usually a busy hotel. The lobby looks very nice and check-in was quick. The room itself feels very new and clean. The bedding was spotless and comfortable. The room had a flat screen HD TV, Crabtree & Evelyn Citron soaps and shampoos, and Wolfgang Puck coffee. The bathroom, like the room, was extremely clean and modern.

The Doubletree also has a very pleasant pool and whirlpool. Most in the area close at 10PM, but this one closed at 11PM so if you arrive late, you can still enjoy the pool. The pool itself is very large, larger than most, so it does not feel crowded when others are present.

Breakfast is by far what sets this hotel apart from the rest in the area. There are your standard cereals, muffins and breads. There is a ton of freshly cut fruit, as opposed to whole fruit. There are also warm scrambled eggs, bacon, French toast, and sausage. The cooked-to-order omelets and waffles are fantastic. The dinner buffet was also very nice, especially the prime rib. The staff there are very nice and helpful. I would stay again!

Room Tip: Loved the 6th Floor
