“What I was looking for”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed October 30, 2012

Stayed here for one night for a cross boarder shopping trip with my wife. The room was spacious, clean and the bed was comfortable. The hot breakfast was well stocked and the breakfast area was extremily clean. I would stay at this hotel again.

Stayed for a second time while attending a Syracuse football game. Not much has changed. Pretty basic accomodations although the facility is rather new. One clear deficiency is the lack of closet and/or storage space. Didn't bother my wife and I too mcuh but I can see families on an extended stay having problems. Suggest you book room facing away from the expressway behind the hotel if you are sensitive to noise. Decent breakfast with standard fare included. fitness center had two treadmills and one elliptical machine. Nice indoor pool for family fun, but don't expect to do laps. Good, quiet location away from all the congestion.

Room Tip: Pick high floor room facing parking lot rather than the expressway in back of the hotel.

Large rooms, nice breakfast, very clean and friendly staff - a good combination. We were pleasantly surprised by this hotel... Even thought the lobby decor was surprisingly modernistic and 'cool'... The divided room worked fine for us, though the TV is a little small for a room of this size.

We usually go down to Syracuse to visit the Outlets and the New York State Fair. This was our 1st time at this hotel, but it won't be the last.
Check in quick and easy...the room was beautiful. It's split into 2 sides..a dividing wall seperates the bed on one side, and the sofa bed, computer desk, fridge, microwave and coffee maker, on the other..the tv swivels, so you can watch from either side.
The only problem was no dresser, so no drawers, to put clothes in, we had to leave them in the suitcase...large closet, so anything hangable was ok...but I can live with that.

The free breakfast was very good...scrambled eggs, bacon, sausage, plus a choice of cereals, breads, muffins, bagels, yogurt, fruit..juices, milk, tea and coffee.

It was also just off the highway, so very easy to get around.

We stayed at the SpringHill Suites Syracuse Carrier Circle as an overnight stay on a Marriott Rewards Certificate.

The room was clean, and all lights and equipment in good working order, but as mentioned in other reviews the room layout is a bit wonky. The living area and bedroom area are separated by a half wall and are oriented perpendicular to each other. The television sits on a table between the two areas such that it's difficult for various family members to view the television if some are sitting on the couch and others laying on the bed.

In addition the beds are double bed sized not queen. The sofa does open to a bed, but a family of 4 hoping to share the two beds would have difficulty unless they were thin and slept without much turning.

The breakfast buffet was your standard faire (scrambled eggs, saussage pattys, waffle maker, cereals, breads, yougard, fruit, etc.). A twist was that waffle batter was offered in both whole wheat and blueberry varieties. A nice change from the standard waffle batter.

The workout room was small but appeared to be in good order.

All in all, I would stay at this property again if passing through the area, however it's a tight squeeze for a family of four. I would consider this as a standard hotel and less of an extended stay property.

Stayed here instead of the Hampton Inn, which was booked. Agree with another reviewer who called SpringHill a cross between Target and Ikea! Modern, inexpensive, furniture. Room quite small for the price, and laid out in an odd fashion. Penny pinching everywhere: small, scratchy towels, few amenities by the sink, one TV wedged in between the two rooms rather than two TVs. One set of drapes rather than two, which let in early morning light. Staff OK. Breakfast had no fruit and the breakfast area was jammed.

5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 28, 2012

We stayed at this hotel in August with our grandson on the way to Niagara Falls, Canada. It was midway on our trip. We initially had difficulty finding the hotel as it is set back in a corporate park setting but the plus is that the area is quiet on the weekends. It is also close to I-90. We were very pleased with the staff and our room. Check in was fast and the staff pleasant. We had a great and large room that consisted of a king sized bed and a sofa bed for our grandson. We were pleased the sofa bed was made up in anticipation of our arrival as it was late and we were exhausted. The room had a seperate dressing area with sink and lots of toiletries. The tub and john were in a seperate room. Our grandson loved the hotel pool and made a few fun friends there. Housekeeping staff was very friendly and accomodating. Our grandson was sick in the middle of the night. I quickly wisked the bedding off the bed so it would not get on the mattress. When I told the housekeeper about the soiled linens she cheerfully told me not to worry that she would take care of everything and inquired if there was anything she could do for our grandson. We left her a big tip. Breakfast at the hotel was good with a variety of breakfast foods available. Restaurants for dinner are not close by but we had found one on restaurants.com and were given directions to McKenzie's. Food was great and not very expensive especially with the food coupon we had. All in all, the accomodations were very comfortable, clean and enjoyable. We would recommend this hotel to anyone and would deffinitely stay here again. .

Room Tip: Location of the hotel is in a quiet area so all rooms are quiet. AC is quiet.
