“Our Favorite Place to Stay”

My wife and I like to try new places, and we rarely return to the same destination. But we had such a wonderful experience staying at the Arbor View House B&B last November that we vowed we would return the same time this year. Once again, Veda and Wilfred did not disappoint. When we arrived this year it felt more like a homecoming. We were greeted with open arms, like we were meeting old friends. We picked up right where we left off, and both recapped our experiences since we spoke last. Wilfred went out of his way to book us the same wonderful wine tour with the same guide as last year. After a fun day of wine touring, we had a delicious dinner at Noah’s and returned to a relaxing aroma therapy bath to cap a perfect day, all thanks to Veda and Wilfred. As always, Veda prepared spectacular multi-course breakfasts, the perfect mix of great food and stimulating conversation. Once again, the Arbor View House hit a home run. We are looking forward to returning again; same time next year.

I have been looking into a weekend trip with wife to the wine country of north fork of Long Island . I have never been to the north fork or to a bed and breakfast before and was not sure what to expect . On our 3 hour drive to east Marion , I get a call from Wilfred asking what time will we be arriving , what kind of tea or coffe we would like upon our arrival . Then he asked what we had in mind for dinner , he made some suggestions and we picked the frisky oyster which he then made reservations for us . We arrived and were greeted to tea and fresh baked crum buns that was the best I ever had . He gave us the tour of the house and our room which was very nice and started our fire place for us . We went to dinner and had a great meal and came back for nice relaxing evnining . The next morning we had breakfast with two other couples and Wilfred and Veda . They prepard a great breakfast and got everyone into some nice conversations . Normally my wife and I keep to our self , but we had agree at time and spent 1.5 hours at breakfast . The next day was a repeat of everything except we spent 3 hours at breakfast and probably would have been there longer but we needs to get on our way . I would highly recommend a stay hear and I am sure we will be coming back again for another vist .

Room Tip: Rooms in the back will have less road noise

Very nice room, close to green port. Owners were very nice people, she cooked a wonderful breakfast for us. Close to all the wineries, and some really nice restaurants and shops in town. We would go back there again.

Our stay at the Arbor View House was our first bed and breakfast experience. We were kind of hesitant about sharing someone’s home on our vacation, but by the end of our stay we were sorry that we had to leave. Wilfred and Veda made us feel right at home. Veda cooked us two non-traditional yet wonderful breakfasts, and Wilfred helped us navigate the local wineries and restaurants. Both Wilfred and Veda are wonderful conversationalists and it was a pleasure staying with them. We would recommend the Arbor View House to anyone looking for a relaxing and fun respite on Long Island’s North Fork. The next chance we get we will be sure to return to the Arbor View House!

We just completed a wonderful three night stay at the Arbor View Inn. We stayed in the Champagne Suite, which is well appointed and very comfortable with a gas fireplace, strong shower and jacuzzi tub. Our room, along with the entire inn is kept spotlessly clean. Breakfast was a chance to meet other guests as well as our gracious hosts, Wilford and Veda. It was also a time to experience Veda's wonderful and diverse cooking. Wilford knows a great deal about the North Fork and was able to make great suggestions for hiking, wineries, ferry trips, restaurants or anything else we inquired about. The inn is a few minutes outside of Greenport and also just a short drive from the county and state parks of Orient Point. We felt truly welcome, as if we were in the home of friends rather than a strange inn. We would definitely go back.

This is the first time my wife and I stayed at a bed and breakfast. We were pleasantly surprised. I was a little reluctant about staying in a “strangers” house. But Veda and Wilfred the proprietors were very welcoming, are great conversationalists and just nice people. Our room (we had the Champagne Suite) was very clean, nicely appointed and quiet. Breakfast was delicious and different every day. We really enjoyed our stay and would definitely go back.

Having visited several bed and breakfasts in the past, we are always very careful to read reviews. Our visit to the Arbor House had some interesting details, and I feel compelled to write so that others can make their own decisions on where to stay. We were greeted with open arms by Wilfred and Veda. The house is charming and very clean. They take great pride in sharing suggestions for restaurant and wineries for us to visit. Our bed was very comfortable. However before we were shown our room, Wilfred asked what time we like our coffee, stating he hoped it 's not too early. We all laughed and I said "At least 7:00", he then went on to say coffee is out at 8 and breakfast will be served at 9:30- outside.( It is October). Wilfred shared that he goes to bed quite late and is not up early. The next morning coffee was not out until 8:15 and our second morning it was not out until 8:20. (most every inn we have visited, has a coffee maker available for early risers)
All of the guest were out side with coats on and the breakfast did not start until 9:45, it is evident that Veda works very hard on breakfast, with a wide variety of foods, shame that it got cold so quickly. Doubt that would have happened inside..( Our second morning was colder than the first, 58 degrees) Both mornings, we were not finished with breakfast until 11:00. We have never visited an inn where everyone is at breakfast at the same time, nor where the innkeepers dine with us. If we had known that, we may not have chosen to stay here.
