“Not worth it!”
3 of 5 stars Reviewed November 15, 2011

We stayed there this past summer--
The owner never left us alone -- He put out stale pretzels and gave us a cheap glass of wine --
All that was offered bagels/buns and coffee in the morning -- that was is for $750 a night!!
It seemed like he was doing us a favor by letting us stay......

Simply put............ just not worth the money!!

This summer my husband and I had the good fortune to stay at the East Hampton Village Bed & Breakfast. Even before our arrival to this lovely “home away from home” we had several occasions to speak with the very helpful owner, Mr. Kauffman, and his knowledgeable son, Eric.
We were coming to the Hamptons during the busy summer season and accommodation availability was scarce. However, the Kauffman family was able to provide us not only with a beautiful room that opened up last minute, but also with the advice as to how we could extend our stay at their charming B & B despite having previous arrangements with another location later on in the forthcoming week. We were so thankful for their advice and assistance as our stay was everything we could have hoped for and more.
As it indicates in other reviews, the B & B is in a superb location. You are within a short walking distance of East Hampton’s main shopping and dining center. Our hosts provided excellent tips on dining and each evening we walked back from dinner along the tree-lined sidewalks to our B & B. Such an experience gave us sense of what it feels like to be a local in this beautiful village.
Our room was clean, comfortable, and equipped with all the amenities one would hope for. In addition, we enjoyed the light, continental breakfast in the sun porch each morning (and had the best pastries we were to eat anywhere in the Hamptons) and appreciated the Kauffman’s offer of help or suggestions as we readied to head out each day. Guests are also provided with the coveted East Hampton Village Beach Permit for the duration of their stay.
Another special feature of this property is the beautiful, salt-water swimming pool. Once passing through the back gate, a private oasis awaits. Comfortable lounge chairs and an adjacent pool house equipped with a private bath and drinks welcomed us. We had the pool to ourselves and enjoyed our après-beach swim.
All in all, our stay was fantastic. Our time at the East Hampton Village Bed & Breakfast will remain one of our most treasured experiences. We highly recommend this establishment for anyone looking to get “an insider’s view” of the Hamptons while connecting with one of the loveliest families on the island!

Room Tip: The Captain's Room has a private bath and skylight.

My wife and I decided to have a romantic getaway in the Hamptons on the spur of the moment and were extremely lucky to find a vacancy at the East Hampton Village B&B ( due to cancellations caused by hurricane Irene). We were very warmly welcomed by the personable staff. We loved our super cozy and quiet room which quickly made us forget NYC's hustle and bustle. The place is nicely secluded yet within only a short walk from East Hampton's Main Street. Our only regret is that we never jumped into the salt water pool in the back yard. We'll certainly be back next year.

Room Tip: The Captain's room was great!

The location is to die for! Just a short walk to the downtown shopping & restaurant scene, yet far enough off the "high traffic" area of route 27, that you can enjoy plenty of peace & quiet in it's tranquil setting. Some of the most beautiful beaches we've ever seen were just a five minute drive down the road. Our room and the B&B overall were very clean and well kept. The recently added salt water pool in the back yard is a wonderful addition to an already charming inn. Finally, we felt that the Kaufman family were spectacular hosts, giving us dining tips and the local rundown when we inquired.

We look forward to our next visit!

Thanks again,
Ben & Lynn

This cozy B&B is a perfect place for a romantic get-away. My husband and I are expecting our little addition soon so we wanted to spend a nice weekend at Hamptons, just two of us while we still can… ;-) Our weekend trip started with miscommunication between Kaufmans and us but they were flexible enough to change their schedule to accommodate us. It actually turned out to be a very relaxing, lovely weekend…

This charming house is tastefully decorated with antiques. I fell in love with their antique phone collection… Rooms are also beautifully decorated, comfortable and very very clean…

We truly enjoyed staying at this beautiful home and also enjoyed meeting Mike and Eric. They both know the area very good, gave us great tips for the restaurants...

Pool was also very clean and felt very relaxing after a long busy week in the city…

Unfortunately, we did not get to experience breakfast here since they were not totally open for the season yet… But both my husband and I would love to go back and taste the delicious pastries everyone has been talking about ;-)

Really sweet place to stay for a weekend. Walking distance to the village of East Hampton. Close drive to the beach. Lovely owners. Great breakfast. Old house but cozy. A bit old fashioned decorated but it has a nice ambience.

Room Tip: Go for the Captain's Room.

The East Hampton Village B&B was just what we were expecting for our weekend getaway from the big city. It was a lovely respite from the hustle and bustle of Manhattan. We stayed in the captain's room which was very cozy and the claw foot bathtub quite charming. The only thing I would have wanted is more light in the bedroom because at night with just the bedside lamps it was a little dim. Otherwise, it was more than we asked for and we plan to come back the next time we are in East Hampton!
