I can't wait to return to Babette's. It's one of the most outstanding organically oriented restaurants I've visited. Though not cheap, there's nothing cheap in the Hamptons, so just go with it. We went for breakfast and here's what we ate: Tuscan Quinoa Bowl and French Toast. The Tuscan dish was cooked quinoa with chunks of butternut squash and kale, topped with 2 sunny side up eggs. It was incredible. The squash was so tasty with a perfect texture. The kale added an extra kick to the quinoa. The french toast was cooked with hearty 7-grain bread, topped with the homemade house granola, which is toasted with oats and almonds. Maple syrup and fresh fruit accompanied the dish. Fresh squeezed juice combos and smoothies are a must. I had juice #2: kale, cilantro, pineapple, cucumber and lemon. Clearly I was in an adventurous mood. It was refreshing, delicious and healthy. We also ordered a more traditional smoothie with bananas, strawberries, vanilla and protein powder. Delicious. Service was great, helpful with menu advice, and quick. Granted it was expensive, but we left so full, we skipped lunch. PS - it was fun to eat under a photo on the wall showing President Bill Clinton dining in the exact booth where we sat. A reminder that the Hamptons are a celeb magnet!
