“Our favorite restaurant in the Hamptons”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed September 21, 2012

We live in the Hamptons year round, and absolutely love this place. It's like a neighborhood Cheers with excellent food. Yes it is packed in the season, but that's because it's one of a handful of places that is deserving of its reputation. The managers are wonderful, bartenders are great, and the servers are friendly, helpful and very competent, and btw the food is delish. Definitely try the biscuits (you can always buy bigger pants in town) and the oysters (their version of Rockefeller). Dover sole, prime rib, pretty much every main course is fantastic.

“Fast (but good) Food”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed September 3, 2012

There's much to like about the East Hampton Grill. A very handsome dining room and bar area, comfortable, well spaced tables, good lighting, friendly and earnest service, and very good food, which tends to play it safe - crab cakes, french dip sandwich, prime rib, shrimp cocktail, Caeser salad etc. A very efficient operation, in an upscale country club type atmosphere. Once you order, however, everything arrives so quickly, with one course following the next and hardly a break in between, that it's hard to not feel rushed. As soon as one person finishes their course, their plate is removed while the others are still eating. One sip of wine and the waiter is there with the bottle. It all seems designed to turn the table and it's very aggravating. After 10 or more visits here, this seems to always be the case, with most meals lasting 45 minutes to an hour at best. Other than this, the restaurant is recommendable.

“A Keeper !”
5 of 5 stars Reviewed August 31, 2012

Although new to the Hamptons scene it has proven to be
one of the best additions in years.
Food is consistanly good, the prime rib spectacular, the cod fish a winner,
and their scrimp cocktail, amazing!
I especially like the ambiance, as it feels more like a private club,
and even more so in winter, when the fireplace is blazing.
The front of the house is always welcoming, and timely about honoring reservations.
Waitstaff is right on, although sometimes
overwhelmed with the volume, causing them to make the diner feel rushed.
Will be back soon !
