“Great Stay for Early Morning Departure”
4 of 5 stars Reviewed April 16, 2011

Exactly what you expect for a Courtyard. Rooms were very quiet - especially since I could look out the window and see the runway. Professional and quick check-in/out. Shuttle runs every 15 minutes from the hotel to the airport - clean, efficient. Great weekend rates.

Thank you for your candid review of our hotel. I agree our location offers guests easy accessibility to Laguardia Airport and we are an affordable option to Manhattan hotels.
Please keep us in mind when future travel plans include the NYC/LaGuardia area.

As a corporate traveler I occasionally have the opportunity to stay in one location for an extended period of time. Such was the case with the Courtyard by Marriott at LaGuardia Airport. During my year plus stay there I came to realize just how important it is to the daily operation of a large hotel to have a well trained, dedicated and professional staff. In recent months the hotel has been in the process of upgrading the entire lobby. Even with the added stress and confusion of an onging construction project they manage to keep things running smoothly. To all of my friends at the hotel, thank you again for making my stay a pleasurable and memorable experience. To all future guests, when staying in the metro NY area, make the Courtyard Marriott LaGuardia your travel destination.

Once again it was our pleasure having you with us for so long. Im glad you were here long enough to see the lobby renovations come to a completion. We are extremely proud of the finished product. Thank you for recognizing the difficulties we faced during the extensive renovation project. We are glad its behind us and that future guests can benefit from the modern design and inviting feeling.

I had to stay here when I discovered JFK hotels were so much more costly. I was told I could catch the free airport shuttle to LGA and take another shuttle from there to JFK. That did cost, $13.75 one way.

The hotel had very friendly front desk staff, who gave me cookies as I checked in. They explained the location for the Sports Bar where full meals could be ordered, a business center that had 3 computers (handy for printing out airline boarding passes), and the gift shop where one could get toiletries, souvenirs and snacks.

My room was large, clean, and pleasantly temped. There was a much needed coffee maker and fridge. If you had no laptop, there was TV Internet for a fee. A small candy dish at bedside held mints, just another unnecessary but appreciated touch. The shower had a nice spa-jet head, toiletries (shampoo, conditioner and lotion) were added. Bed was comfy, and I slept like a baby. Easy to set alarm clock (some hotels are going to difficult to use ipod charger/clock combos) made sure I got to my plane ontime. I have been to hotels that had lounges which only served appetizers and drinks, but here, you can get a full meal (I had the fish and chips, too much food lol) with drinks while watching TV. Service all around from front door manager to front desk staff to lounge staff, all friendly and helpful.

If flying out of LGA ror even JFK, I would definitely return here.

This hotel met my 3 primary criteria: Convneience, Efficiency, and Sleep Quality. Very fast, regular shuttle. Good exterior soundproofing. Great fitness center. Only minor issues are: Room doors which slam (the closure mechanisms are worn out), older decor and furniture (but fine), limited food. It's comparable to the full service Marriott in terms of total experience, and MUCH better than any of the other hotels in the area. Recommended.

We are currently undergoing lobby renovations and shortly we will be proud to introduce Courtyards' Refreshing Buisness Lobby to our new and return guests. This hotel was very expensive for what it offers. At 2PM were were hungry and we could not get any food whatsoever, since the hotel restaurant/bar just closed after lunch. All they could offer was to send somebody to Pizza takeout place.

Thank you for your review about your stay at the Courtyard by Marriott @ Laguardia Airport. Im sorry to hear you felt the price was expensive based on the services we provided. September is one of the busiest month in New York with the US Open and UN General Assembly in town. We are always competetively priced yet during peak demand periods I can see your point,
Our restaurant does close down after serving lunch from 1:30pm and reopens at 5:00pm. We too wish demand was strong to have the restaurant stay open instead of offereing neighboring pizzerias for delivery.

This property has been a CY for 12 years, located 5 minutes form LGA nestled in a Queens neighborhood. Depending on your room, you get a panoramic view of the airport and the busy Grand Central Parkway. The hotel has a certain charm to it and will undergo the CY modernization next month. Small bar (daily drink specials) and nice size restaurant serving all 3 meals, although dinner menu is somewhat limited. $16 for a hamburger but this is not atypical being a NY City establishment. Given the airport proximity, you'll see a lot of flight crew coming/going. Although its noisy outside (planes take off every few minutes it seems) it is fine inside. If you're used to the CY style, you'll find the rooms a bit smaller but again, this is typical for NY City hotels. The room was clean, comfortable, nicely furnished (including fridge). When you check in, the Hotel Manager has his desk situated right in the lobby. I thought this was a nice touch and I have never seen this in my over 1,000 Marriott stays. Staff was very friendly/helpful. As for restaurants, there are 3 which are about 1-2 miles away and the hotel offers free shuttle service. One is a sports bar with (I'm told) sub-par pub food, another is an Argentinean place and is more suitable for romantic dinners, the 3rd which I went to called Joey's, is a local place with quite reasonably priced Italian and Continental fare. There is a wide choice of other places if you're willing to drive or taxi. Overall, this is an excellent lodging choice if you need to be near LGA. Clean, comfortable, safe, great staff. On-site parking is $22.

Thank you for your detailed candid review of your stay at the Courtyard Lagaurdia. Based on your review it would seem we met or exceeded your expectations during your visit. Perhaps it was me you saw at the managers desk in the lobby. We started lobby managerial coverage in August and it has been received extremely well.

Please share your experience with your family and friends. if your travel plans include the Laguardia area we hope to see you then.

Across the street from LaGuardia makes this a convenient location especially for those early morning flights. The hotel is ok, but nothing special...and certainly not worth the price.
